NAMI AND YAKOVU HOLD AN INSPECTION TOUR IN YESILIRMAK

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yesilirmak/Kato Pyrgos....

Postby cymart » Tue Aug 11, 2009 4:02 pm

The vast majority of people on both sides have made it quite clear that they want the road to open a.s.a.p. because there will be enormous benefits for everyone. But when can we use the road via Erenkoy/Kokkina for transit as well?It is equally important for people who live in the area...
Limnitis is a lovely place and produces excellent strawberries and Kolakassi,as well as having some lovely seaside tavernas-one even has a jetty with a bar at the end!
But PLEASE do not follow the example of so many other places on both sides of Cyprus and ruin it by over-development.... and overcharging visitors for food etc.!!!

Most of the available land around Pyrgos has already been purchased by the big developers. Which is why they want the crossing to open.

i was just thinking that the tc's would benefit more from its opening than those of turkish mainland origin.

I know TC people from this village and once heard a story from them that the TCs of the area are actually ethnic GCs who converted to Islam for financial reasons in the Ottoman days. Anyone heard anything about this, as that kind of incident has been documented in the past?

Ahh already too late for Limnidis cymart, it is ridiculous.

10 Euros for a shitty piece of dried Kleftiko?!

Who the hell do they think they are?!

There are only very few places for us to go swim around Lefke and each one has been taken over by greedy tavernas who do not only hold your only access to the water, physically, but also charge incredible amounts of money for their bad quality food, which you are forced to consume if you want access to the sea!

I thought this was illegal, no one can own the sea, can they?!

This is typical and is the case for many people, who become Muslim to pay less tax and then become Orthodox again to take advantage of the Church, they don't care about religion, they just want more money

We should ask YFred as I heard Luricina was also famous for this, specially with their Italian ancestors

Famous for what? paying less tax? never. We always pay our taxes on time. Italians are shortarses and Lurucadi's are tall. Just a minor observation.
As to the rumour, it is just a rumour. No truth in it, but we do claim it when it suits us.

Bad luck. One died in 1940s and the other in 1970. I do go and visit their grave side when ever I can. Can your family's victims do the same?

Unfortunately the only thing my family have ever had to do with atrocities was when we lost family members to Turkish and TC soldiers and police.

It would be good to pay some of this back one day. Look forward to starting with your scalp Y-fronts. You have the honour of being the first stop on my revenge spree. 8)
