The importance of passing on the spirit of the Erenkoy

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Milt, it is so easy to put spin on things to suit whatever propaganda you wish. The policy of ethnically cleansing the TCs from Cyprus, started in 1960, when The Monk and his gang hatched the akritas plan.

How can you debate with these simple fools!? YFred has already admitted he has never seen the Akritas plan. If anything the Turks of Cyprus ethnically cleansed and embargoed themeselves. I REALLY REALLY hope someone tries to take the RoC to the ECHR over so-called ethnic cleansing claims which will officially be laughed at by the end verdict.

Where did I admit that old boy. I seem to remember putting it on the forum myself, so I must have seen it.

An "equal partnership" between the RoC and Turkey is what the foolish Turkish Cypriots are busting their balls for!

For God or Allahs sake, please, please just stop it!!
Try following Sevgul Uludags example so we can all look each other direct in the eye again and then get on with living together on this island, even if we can't love each other yet......

...thank-you cymart for your sanity.

we need to sustain our identities as turcophone and grecophone. others not unlike the armenians, maronites, romes, should have the same opportunity if we stand united for equaity. frontiers are asked for, a Jurisdiction with territory, National Assemblies. nothing stops a People made up of Individuals to form representations for their identities as Persons as well; Bicommunality. Enclaves if they pocketed the whole island would allow for the return of the displaced at least for some as communities. they will secure our Right to Free Association, Movement, and Expression. by adding diversity to the respective communities, enclaves will serve to keep them vital; Bizonality.

the shame is that we can look toward the other as an Ignorance to be abhored. if there are to be martyrs, then we must evolve.

(please read my manifesto)

Erdogan Ozbalikchi and Tyllyria...

Postby cymart » Tue Aug 11, 2009 3:03 pm

If you can read Greek, have a look at the article by the above named in todays Politis newspaper. He is originally from Erenkoy/Kokkina but has been living in Yialousa since 1976,along with many other viilagers of his and is one of the most logical and friendly people I have met in Cyprus. He also speaks Greek and his wife, who is a doctor, has helped many elderly Greek-Cypriots who still live in the area.
Basically he suggests that both Yialousa and Tyllyria should be used as test cases for co-existence by allowing former Greek and Turkish Cypriots who wish to return to them to do so as part of goodwill gesture towards an overall solution. You can often find him at the Theresa fish taverna and hotel in Ayios Therissos and he has many Greek-Cypriot friends from the left of the political spectrum, some of whom have gained high positions in the government nowadays.
If only there were more people like him on both sides...
