Talat seeks new image for Turkish Cypriot side

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Bananiot,

Can you please tell me the context in which Lyssarides said what he said?

I mean, it is very easy to take a single statement and put it in the wrong context. So, why did the TC's walk out? What were they discussing or arguing about that they were compelled to leave the room? Were the discussions reasonable?

Yes if he was punished with an invasion and occupation of 37% of his country for his own arrogance. The same way you would shut your big mouth if and when you could possibly witness the catastrophy of what you advocate would bring.

PS. What happened, I thought your only target was Papadopoulos. We shifted to Lyssarides now who is not even a party leader anymore?

His target is RoC. What he wants is foreign occupation of the whole Cyprus. I remember him saying that he would prefer if Cyprus was a British colony, and how nice it was when we were under the British etc.

A statement I've heard from a number of Cypriots old enough to remember what life was like when Cyprus was part of the 'pink' world. You use the simple argument made by most hardliners Piratis, if someone argues counter to you, you accuse them of treachery... very weak.

I've NEVER heard any Cypriots say they would like to go back to being ruled by the British.

Compared to the way that Cypriots have treated each other since 1960, I'd say that pales in comparison re.

True, but you can't blame GC and TCs turning on each other solely on the British. To do so is to absolve Cypriots of blame entirely. I don't claim that the colonial period was a golden age or even tolerable by todays standards, I only state what I've been told in conversations with some elderly GCs, in hindsight it wasn't terrible either. Most people who claim it was awful are products of an education system that tells them it was.
