Animal Cruelty in Cyprus!!!! Part two

Postby cyprusgeoff » Sun Aug 09, 2009 1:55 pm

I'd like to find the bastard who did this to a dog and do the same to him.

This is just mindless cruelty by an ignorant moron who should be found and locked up but not before I've kicked the slob two or three times in his balls.

Report in the mail:-

Dog dragged from back of pickup truck
By Nathan Morley

‘We feel this event was so brutal and violent that action must be taken’)

AN AIR of silence is hindering efforts to prosecute a council worker who reportedly tied rope around the neck of an abandoned dog, then dragged it from the back of his truck through a village near Nicosia.

The ordeal, which left four-year-old Bruno fighting for his life, has outraged animal welfare campaigners, who are desperate for witnesses to come forward.

The unidentified man, who was sent to collect the dog by council officials, was seen attaching the yelping animal to his bumper, before speeding off with it in tow.

Horrified locals cried out to the man to stop the truck, but he ignored them and sped off, with the terrified dog running at speed to avoid strangulation.

A witness, who alerted police - found the dog some time later close to death, however despite other people seeing the ordeal, no one is prepared to testify in the close knit-community.

A veterinarian who examined the Bruno, an Irish wolfhound, said that the animal suffered severe abrasions and burns to all four legs, face, ears and to its abdomen and was in a severe state of shock.

Stella Stylianou from the Argos Charity, who is looking after Bruno, told the Sunday Mail she was incensed at the situation, saying that the circumstances would “sicken any civilised person”.

“We feel this event was so brutal and so violent that action must be taken,” she said.

It is understood that the man has made several verbal threats to some witnesses, scaring them into silence – and leaving Argos without a case.

Yesterday, Bruno was making a steady recovery and is out of any immediate danger.

Michael Saunders from BFAWS, a kennel on Dhekelia was equally outraged at the case and urged Argos to look at every avenue open to them to pursue a prosecution.

“As this is an allegation against a public official, that allegation could be taken to the Ministry of the Interior or the Attorney General. A thorough vets report would also give a good indication into how the injuries were likely to be caused,” he said.

BUT the council officials should know who he is......? unless they're part of the cover up as well.

This has made my blood boil - The BASTARD should be tied by his neck and dragged along behind a car at a very very high speed. Then untied and left where he falls. He ain't an animal cos animals don't treat each other like that. No wonder the kids (some of them that we have seen out in Cyprus) have no interest in animals and think it is ok to kick and hit them with sticks just for the fun of it.

What pathetic imbeciles you all are.

This incident was just a mere accident and it doesn't take much to work this out for yourself...

It was not a deliberate act of cruelty, but the dog merely fell off the back of the ute and was dragged along the roadside for some distance resulting in some concerned individuals reporting it to the authorities.

I mean for heaven sake...did anyone actually see the council worker tying the dog and deliberately dragging it along as an act of cruelty? NO! Absolutely not!

The driver might have made a rapid turn resulting in the dog losing its balancing and falling off the ute. This is the only logical explanation!

Don't believe everything you read people. Take this with a grain of salt and in the case of the Cyprus Mail, take the whole salt shaker for good measure...

I can't believe you are all so gullible!

This is just a media beat up!

It is understood that the man has made several verbal threats to some witnesses, scaring them into silence – and leaving Argos without a case.

Hear say your Honor.

A witness, who alerted police - found the dog some time later close to death, however despite other people seeing the ordeal, no one is prepared to testify in the close knit-community.

With no one willing to testify, I rest my case... 8)

Yesterday, Bruno was making a steady recovery and is out of any immediate danger.

But our client is very happy to learn that the dog is recovering from this unfortunate accident.

BUT the council officials should know who he is......? unless they're part of the cover up as well.

The Paphitis Law Chamber will be approaching the council to see whether they are interested in filing a defamation case against the Cyprus Mail and Argos.

The council needs to call 1300 PAPHITIS right now for a no obligation free quote against these ludicrous claims!

Lana, cheque is in the mail...

As for the rest of you imbeciles....you are allImage....for the unforgiveable crime of displaying immense stupidity on CF!

Regards

Perhaps you Paphitis need to read the article again as for dismissing the Cyprus Mails articles, when it involves wrong doing in Cyprus, these articles are suddenly crap,

Perhaps the article on TV re the Vet in Paphos who has treated 5 animal poisonings this week alone with a newly identified poison, is crap as well  You bloody idiot you don,t live here and you know jack shit

OBJECTION your honor!

The defendant reportedly committed the crime, and yet no one is willing to testify.

Perhaps the prosecution would like put forward any evidence and submit to the court its key eyewitness!

Once again, since the prosecution has failed to provide a star witness, I move to strike these defamatory claims against my clients good person.

My client is traumatised over this sad accident and is currently undergoing psychiatric therapy....so let's not make this any worse for him.

My client is an honest man earning an honest living and it is unfortunate that the whingeing Poms have this silly vendetta against this family orientated innocent and animal loving man, just because he refuses to collect their garbage on hygienic grounds!

OBJECTION!

What on earth does this have to do with the alleged and unsubstantiated charges against my client?

You bloody idiot you don,t live here and you know jack shit

OBJECTION!

I am rather astonished your honor that this stupid Brit has the audacity to use foul language within this court room.

The arrogance and filth of Milo is a mockery to this court forum and should now be banned for contempt of our fine jurisdiction.

What a filthy tart she is your honor. You would never get this kind of filth from Cypriots.

She should be Image immediately!

I rest my case! 8)

Yes, crueilty does take place in Cyprus, just as in any other country.

In this case I will agree will Paphitis.

If the dog was dragged the whole way through the said village I am sure they would have been fatal injuries.

Does the local authorities, this person is working for have a suitable cage to carry these animals safetly?

What I know for a fact is that each village improvement board is obliged by law to have kennels for stray dogs. They are also obliged to have proper catching equipment and transport for these animals.

The only thing they know to do is collect money from us. I am sure this man was doing what he was directed to do, accidents do happen.

I am glad to hear that the dog is making a recovery.
