it will be tricky to do right now i would of thought, the pressure would be quite intense

It's weird, we are suppose to be a one-continent economy, but there is not enough information posted about it. It's like a registered company in Cyprus needs to be re-registered in the UK. So much for the ideology.

I started my business June 1st 1990 - middle of the recession... no better time to start...

You have the basics, you now need professional advice from an accountant. The tricky bit as I said earlier is the VAT thing... stupid I know.

Companies like Amazon have a 'presence' in Cyprus so they can ship here from the UK and still charge you VAT - it is all unnecessarily complex...

Good luck, PM me if you need any specific advice without idiots butting in...

Just finished setting up a company here (the third since 1980) and it is not difficult. You do need to understand how the Government functions (or not) for this kind of thing, but there are no major obstacles as long as you are not in a hurry.

Must admit the VAT returns lark was a bit complicated, but now that I have got my head round it, it is not too hard.

Yes, the VAT form looks just like the UK one - apart from that pesky extra box!

VAT is simple here - just one extra box compared to the UK form...

The only difference really is that you pay your VAT into the local bank and get the forms stamped (the bank keeps a copy along with your cheque). Then you have to take the other two copies of the form to the VAT office (Limassol in our case) to get it stamped by them...

Really, paying the VAT is the last thing to be worrying about at thgis stage of your business! :D

Yep your right, the logo is driving me insane, my dad said something which to be honest I wish he did not. Man, sometimes this dad of mine cannot keep his mouth shut and now I am doubting my logo.
