How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Why are you exchanging them on email?

Why not post them here for all to see?

Because it is a military zone, and the photos were probably taken by a UN Peacekeeper or a Turkish Soldier...What a clever dick you are...

Why don't you do the responsible thing and ask cymart for his permission to post the photographs?

If he wanted them posted on the forum he would've done it himself you moron.

Whatever chicken shit, what are you his bum-chum?

He is probably too old to figure out how to use Photobucket and can just about type in an email address and click send.

No disrespect to you cymart, if Paphitis here loves you so much then he should at least give you a hand on using a photo sharing site

We are all interested in the subject of Varosha,so why not have a discussion about it without resorting to offensive language? If you REALLY can get into the closed area and are not in the Turkish Military,I would be very interested to know how, although I do remember that there was a bar selling drinks and Lahmacun which opened in the summer some years ago way down near Kamares restaurant and access was via the turning left to Ayios Memnon off the road to Dherinia from Famagusta but was restricted to T.R.N.C. military and Turkish Military staff and their families and you were not allowed to stop on the way in or out or go inland away from the beach. The turning is also where the first barrier is on the Turkish side of the road to Dherinia. If this is how you go there we would like to know more or is there another way?Maybe you could take me with you if I arrange to come over and meet you and I will be glad to buy the drinks etc!Or at least take some photos for us...
Thanks-a little goodwill can reap big rewards..

Hey cymart, I am sorry I did not mean to be offensive towards you, was just pulling Paphitis's leg.

It has been about a year or so since I last went there, but I assure you I have been there at least a dozen times through out my life and only 1 time when I was a soldier, the rest was all as civilians.

We used to go there a lot more in my teens along with friends to enjoy the beautiful white sands and the crystal clear waters. Plus we thought hanging around in a deserted town was pretty interesting yet creepy.

I cannot say if that is still the case but I would assume it is, since there is no reason to suddenly stop people from going in after allowing it to happen for so many years. Also the resort by the beach was privately run I believe and not a military resort, so clearly civilians are allowed.

Basically, you show your id and go through, you are not allowed to stop nor take pictures but then there is no one there to check as you have to drive across the deserted town to get to the seaside, still I would not want to spend too much time lingering about. I only know one entrance in Famagusta, down a very long and straight road amongst the residential areas, one side of the road is entirely sealed and the end of the road is where the checkpoint is, I am not sure what the area is called, but if i remember correctly there was a deserted ancient GC petrol station at the beginning of the road that leads to the checkpoint.

Also I have taken my British girlfriend there once, we did not think she would have been allowed but I told the soldier that she was with me and they did not seem to care, I do not know what the case would be if I was with a GC.

But i am sure it would not hurt to ask. Or will it?

I am not in Cyprus as we speak, I have just left to Istanbul to take care of some business, but I will return soon and we can talk again.

:D

Summer time is not the best time for fish Epsilon, they are mostly farm fish.

Winter time however, fish is found in many kinds, in huge numbers and VERY cheap.

Which is a shame because there is a very short time period where you can actually enjoy sitting outside in a beautiful Ortakoy restaurant along the wonderful Bosphorus and also enjoy top quality fish.

Most of the time it is either too hot and bad fish or lots of good fish but you have to sit inside
