Agree Turkey should give back some of N. Cyprus but some of it is Turkish."

None of Cyprus is Turkish.

And isn't the UK a Guarantor for Cyprus, for which they kept two large "sovereign" bases, something which was not given to them in any of their other former colonies?

By the same token UK and Germany and Italy should not be allied for the same reason. So the UK s hould piss off out of the EU and NATO so as not to be allied with people who were shooting at them etc.

Coming to think of it, it would be ideal if the UK, Turkey and Israel became the next 3 states of the USA so formalising what is a de facto union with America and leave Europe alone.

I would love to see the British trying to function under a true constitution which is enforced by a serious constutional court with teeth. Simple democratic processes like free speech, the freedom of information acts, the right to bear arms, elected judges and police officials, applying in Britain. What a wonderful prospect! What a nice way to make the British lose their cool!

Rather than a view, here are some facts:

Politically, Cyprus has been a member of the European Union since 2004.

Geographically, it's in western Asia but as an island, Cyprus isn't connected to any continent.

Geologically, it's on the meeting point of the African and Eurasian plates.

Culturally, most Cypriots with a Christian heritage would probably align themselves to Europe.

Historically, influences are both:

western: Achaean, Mycenaean, Macdenonian, Roman, Byzantine, Crusader, Venetian, British.

&

eastern: Phoenician, Egyptian, Persian, Assyrian, Arab, Ottoman and, since 1974 in the north, modern Turkey.

Cyprus is a lot more European than the UK. Take a tour through truly European areas, like Spain, France, Italy and compare them to the UK and Cyprus.

the GC south is a donkey with a saddle on its back which makes it think it is a race horse, far from it a donkey is always a donkey however much you try to dress it up.

I really don’t know how you’re going to survive on Cyprus with so much hatred for the indigenous Cypriots (and I’m talking about long term survival not just the next 5 or 10 years)… you really have chosen the wrong place to come to because this IS the land (island) of the Greek Cypriots in case you haven’t ralised…

Doesnt change the fact that you are still donkeys, although you claim to be a race horse. GCs south TCs north.
