I've just been emailed by a good source that things will definately come back in the the next ten years. Especially with the development of the marina in Paphos, which I am told is now going ahead

If you have Title Deeds for them yes, probably but otherwise you could be in for a long wait.

I think it will take some time for the Cyprus property market to bounce back and certainly not to the boom times of three - five years ago.

There has been so much media coverage about greedy and dishonest developers, shifty and crooked lawyers and a lot of them made a heap of money by swindling the buyers.

Now the queue of potential purchasers has almost dried up the Cyprus property gravy train has ground to a halt.

You will hear or see no tears of sorrow from most of the recent buyers in Cyprus for the developers, estate agents and lawyers situation now.

I'm still looking to buy but I will not pay silly bugger prices. Six years ago what I could have bought for £30,000 would have cost me £100,000 last year. The place I was looking at two years ago went up by £10,000 in two months, now with the deeds fiasco I will only buy resale and at the right price - otherwise it's a place in France.

this year they have dropped massivly, this has been done mainly by people hoping to sell and my properties have been dropped a great deal indeed. i have not seen any silly bugger prices for a long time, now is the time to buy if you are looking for a bargain. my properties have title deeds, and are very very cheap indeed for what they are. the reason they are not selling has nothing to do with the properties themselves but the damn banks wont lend!! simple as that. we get viewings, offers but the banks say NO, its a shame

I have some excellent plots for sale within 10 minutes of the centre of Nicosia, anyone interested??

OK they are currently under UN control, but when we have the solution next year, they will be worth at least €200K each!!!!!

Pafos Marina going ahead eh?

What year will that be in then?

By the time they sort out the tenders, the contracts, purchase of land, the loans, possible grants form the EEC, all the other delays it will take years.

It will take them most importantly, quite a long time to sort out who gets what amount in the way of back handers and the brown envelopes.
