I am amazed at the pesimism here and believe the Property Market will have recovered fully within five years. UK (the main source of external buyers) property prices have stablised, UK and US stock markets are showing signs of recovery, the US car makers are starting to sort themselves out and people's confidence will grow towards the end of this year.

The reality is that the world is no less well off than it was, say, 3 years ago; there are still the same amount of natural resources, there is still the same labour force - all that has gone is confidence - and a few jobs.

Confidence will return and the Property Market recover.

Just because the slide in house prices in UK has started to slow down this does not mean that the recession is over or things are improving. People seem to forget about all the people which have lost their jobs and the future cuts we are facing (in the UK) in the public sector. Schools, Colleges and Hospitals have all had their budgets cut. This has a huge knock-on effect and means more redundancies, less projects/services to purchase and companies who provide services to the above face tough times trying to stay in business.

The above has a knock on effect with house prices too as there will be less demand for houses in UK. More and more jobs are now being moved from UK to India mainland Europe to help save companies more money.

"The reality is that the world is no less well off than it was, say, 3 years ago; there are still the same amount of natural resources, there is still the same labour force - all that has gone is confidence - and a few jobs. "

A few jobs! 1000's and 1000's more like. Many BIG companies have gone Lana, and many more will follow.

The truth is no-one knows when things will iron out but we all have our opinions but one think I do know - we have to move on.

If you have to 'move on', then you will need to buy a new home - see the Market is picking up already ;-)
