Group of Greek Cypriot commandoes who were in action on the island during the 20th of July have confessed to taking part in the killing of prisoners of war.

The former troops confessed to taking part in the execution of Cyprus Turkish freedom fighters that had been taken prisoners.

The men said they had pushed the prisoners off a cliff, during what has become known as the Doğruyol raid.The horrifying confessions of the Greek Cypriot commandoes came in a book written by Greek Cypriot writer Panikos Neokleous on the memoirs of former Greek Cypriot soldiers.
The book refers to the memoirs of 50 Greek Cypriots who were part of a commando battalion, which took many Cyprus Turkish fighters prisoner before killing them during the height of the fighting in 1974.

3 former troops from the battalion confessed to pushing to death 20 Cyprus Turkish fighters off a cliff whom they took prisoner.

The Cyprus Turkish fighters who were on defensive positions had been taken prisoners during a raid by the Greek Cypriot commandoes on the night of the 20th of July 1974.

Funny that now there are reports of military actions by the GCs. The picture painted so far was that the GC national guard simply ran away from all actions. Now we learn that they mounted commando raids and overran positions. Strange thing propaganda.....
