TRNC established through the use of Force.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

TRNC established through the use of Force.

It is very sad indeed to read the very nationalistic attitudes of some posters on this forum. Nationalism is no bad thing under the right auspices.
However to instill xenophopia and racial hatred is wrong, destructive and serves no usefull purpose.
It is widely written that the TRNC was established under force.
What is often neglected however is that the legitimate government of Cyprus was stolen by acts of terrorism and clandestine infiltration of nearly 20,000 greek troops onto Cyprus. Most people will be able to identify the time period in which these events took place.
It is, in my view, this that was the start of the real Cyprus problem.
The TRNC was really the only way that the equally nationalistic TC could protect their right to governance upon the Island.
I feel that the very clear nationalistic stance of both sides can only lead to a segregated bi zonal republic that allows the clear demand for seperate independant governance.

No, that's not how it started and your figure is wrong. Go back and read your history again but this time from a credible source.

I think the sky should be green, the fact that it's blue has caused the Cyprus problem, I have not identified any source either...

Listen, look at the ratio of the population of Cyprus, GC/TC, and look at the demands of the TCs or Turkey. That's the problem, right there!

eracles,
Thank you for your comments.
Sky colour is somewhat more certainly definable.

It is indeed the case that there has been a significant influx of mainland turks since 1984 into TRNC.
However, it is also the case that the ROC is now an open gated European state. There is and will continue to be an influx of European nationals from some 27 legally entitled states to live, work and reside in the ROC or on Cyprus.
You really cannot criticise the TRNC for maximising its desire to become more Turkish whilst the ROC desires to become more European.
I am afraid that the term Cypriot or indeed British or Polish or latvian is becoming more and more diluted as we move deeper into the European alliance and nationalism becomes less distinct.

Is Cyprus Middle Eastern, or European?

Politically Cyprus is European.
Geographically the Island, like Turkey, represents the Gateway to the middle east.
The strategic position and its security as an Island has always made Cyprus a very desirable military stagging post.

Thank you Kurupetos,
I think the jury may well decide that.
If and when the fair and just trial is allowed.

You may well be called as the prosecution. However you must also allow the defendant representation.
What is the crime that the Northern Cypriots have committed?
