Postby NewDebs » Sun Aug 02, 2009 7:37 pm

Hello All :D

August has finually arrived!!..We will be coming to Cyprus for the first time in three weeks time and wondered if anyone had recently stayed at the Elia Latchi Holiday Village?....A good holiday??

Also what is the weather likely to be like?...We will be staying in the Latchi/Paphos area if that helps?

Really looking forward to our holiday now!!!

Thanks to all.

I've not stayed there but I can tell you that the weather will be very hot and unlike anything you will have seen in England.

Do take care if you are planning on being out in the sun. It will burn you very quickly and many a holiday has been ruined by severe sun burn on pale English skins.

15 - 20 minutes max then either cover up or get inside for a while.

Drink plenty of water.

Have a good holiday.

August is the worst time of the year in Cyprus because temperatures will vary between 40..42°C. For a few it’s even fatal!

I don’t know what possesses tourists to come here in July/Aug… perhaps school holidays has something to do with. :?

Don't exaggerate! 40-42 is only in Nicosia and no Tourist will go there ;) Most Cypriots take their vacations in August and I never heard of anybody dying because of the heat! NewDebs I didn't stay at that tourist village but I checked it out some time ago and it seemed pretty good! That area is also one of the best in Cyprus! Have a nice vacation :)

New Debs

This the third time you have asked about the holiday village and weather - they haven't changed since last we replied.

Dear Svetlana

Perhaps it's something to do with us getting excited after working and saving very hard since Jan for this holiday.

I'm glad to say the child in me is alive and well and it's a shame more people don't take time to enjoy the hard worked for things more.. :)

Dear All,

Thank you for wishing us a nice holiday.I think us brits visit Cyprus, greece, spain, etc in the hottest months because to be honest, our English Summers are usually non-existent and summers is the above countries are guarenteed.I know i always feel loads better walking in the sunshine, compared to walking to work in the drizzle and greyness of London!!

Thanks to all for responding...

Latchi very laid back and dont miss a trip out on the old "koula".A traditional wooden fishing boat now arranged for tourists. You have several hours, swimming in a beautiful lagoon and a great BBQ on board cooked by the captain .Fabulous for 50 euros for 2 people. We go everytime we are in Cyprus and have always enjoyed it.
