I have never been to the north, i hear property is very cheap to purchase there, but work is difficult, is this so?

Read what Sotos said! Now if you goto the North that will make you a traitor :!: Is money all you think about?

No it is not all i think about, i asked a general question about the north of cyprus which should have no bad affect you on really.
I put my hand up to the fact i dont know a huge amount about the north, and i asked out of curiosity, so please dont ask me if money is all i think about, its totally irelevant.

Animal Cruelty in Cyprus!!!!

Postby cyprusgeoff » Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:14 pm

This, as usual, has turned into a North versus South thread.

Could I respectfully remind those off topic that the original post was

What do you mean you don't know nothing about the north. It's part of Cyprus and was invaded by Turks in 1974 and the rightful inhabitants (Hellens) were murdered and ethnically cleansed by Turks. Maybe I was a bit harsh but you sounded like you were interested in buying property there or working for Turks? Tell me I'm wrong but too many Brits and other Europeans are buying Greek land/property and couldn't give a damm about the rightful owners.

yes you were a bit harsh however all forgiven.
I was just being curious thats all.
Am not thinking about buying property in the north nor working there, but if i did want to i would.
but it doesnt mean that i agree with what happened in 74, and i am more than aware of it too.

the whole thing about Kosher and halal meat (animals) being slaughered in that way in the 21st century is complete crap!
Perhaps when people were living hundreds of years ago without the benefit of storage techniques it may have been a need then, but whats the excuse now????
Because a holy book hundreds of years ago said it was ok it probably was then for the reasons mentioned but you as people havnt progressed since then?
Its rather a strange quirk that whats NOT mentioned in these "good books"is ok - no mention of Volvos or mercs with air con? then thats fine, go ahead. air travel, no problem, use fridges to keep food fresh and hygenic ok but because it says we must tread animals that way its ok? If you followed the teachings by the book then you should be living like the Amish in America..
And i have ben told many times that the Orthodox Church teaches that dogs have no souls..is that true?? And yet Dogs can lead the blind, find people buried, warn of fire etc. maybe thats why some people prefer animals to some of the neandethals we see walking around upright these days...........

Well I do not agree with animal cruelty what so ever and I find all holy books to be absolute trash but one thing is for sure and that is the fact that Halal/Kosher meat tastes 10 times better than the stuff you get in the UK
