Indeed :) I have a friend in the UK who has a man come in to do the cleaning :o Do you think any Cypriot men would be happy to slip into an apron and wield a feather duster?

JoJo wrote:Hi paliometoxo. Yes I know that they are family. What I am tring to say is that some of these women do absolutely nothing. Thay expect everything. One of our relatives recently got engaged. Moved into a flat with fiance all paid for by her parents (she does not work). Everytime her husband needed an ironed shirt, she called her mum to come and iron it for her. Come on. Needless to say she did not know how to cook a thing and was not willing to learn in case she broke a nail. They are now living at her moves house coz the mum got sick and tired and having to run to the flat all the time. This is not normal adult behaviour, in my opinion anyway.

ive lost count the amount of times i said each to their own!! its all about culture and it has to be respected, look at the whole cy culture if thats where you are, its all there for you to absorb, and its not bad, its different and thats what makes it interesting surely.
I have met some strange cy people, uk people, and all sorts, but its up to them how they run their lives and daily routine.

the thread has wanderd a bit!
Its not about what you can and cannot afford,
Its about Ignorance, arrogance and a lack of basic manners in a certain age group of some Greek Cypriot women....

" ive lost count the amount of times i said each to their own!! its all about culture and it has to be respected"

Strange - respected and respect.....two words these harpies have no knowledge of.....

Kurupetos,I'm glad to hear it!

But it seems you are not in the majority, unfortunately!
If you arrived in the Greek-Cypriot half of Cyprus for a holiday for the first time after reading all the pleas about the Turkish Occupation, the refugees etc etc. what impression would you get?Mine would be of of a dusty,semi-arid country covered in far too many places with ugly concrete buildings, many of which are for sale or rent, arrogant people driving the latest models of luxury cars, shops crammed with every kind of goods which most people don't need, sleazy looking night clubs selling trafficked women from Moldova etc, and people from all corners of the globe hanging around, especially Asia and eastern Europe who obviously are not tourists and have far less than the locals...If you come to Paphos the chances are you will be accosted by louts on mopeds from Britain selling time -sharing and not find any Cypriots working at your hotel reception or in the local tavernas, while you have a good chance of being ripped -off at the same time!
I wish I was joking but unfortunately I'm not.....

JoJo wrote:Hello. Where do I start. I have lived in Cyprus on and off for alot of years. I am fully aware that everywhere in the world in changing at a rapid pace. However, the breed of most of the Cypriot women I come across on a daily basis need up good kick up the backside. When did these womaen become so spoilt and selfish?

Quite a few of my female relatives: (to name but a few)

- Have cleaners for their houses even though they do not work
- Their mothers raise their children
- They do not cook (mum does that as well, minimum twice a day)
- Go on regular holidays because they are always tired
- Visit the hairdresser twice weekly
- Visit a beautician twice weekly
- (this one is a clssic) order fried chips from the takeaway store for the kids if they do not like grandma's cooking and she happens to not be home to cook something else.
- Have to drive a luxury car. The husband gets the shitty beat up twin cabin
- Act like bitches all day and think they are the centre of the universe.

Can someone lease exlain waht has hapened to the women here. It never used to be like this. How do men find wives these days? I feel sorry for the single men trying to find a wife Is that why alot of men have affairs here?

Please enlighten me somebody. Thanks!!

Oh, how I wish I were a Cypriot woman! :P :P
