What is this Compromise then?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What is this Compromise then?

Postby Kibrisli Turk » Fri Jul 31, 2009 12:20 am

What is this compromise being discussed? What if the two community leaders fail to produce an acceptable, dual "Yes" plan in a possible future referendum? Will the "TRNC" continue, will Turkey be pushed to compromise the "TRNC" or will Northern Cyprus the territory eventually integrate with the Cyprus Republic through automatic R.O.C using the method of Cypriot citizenship and the issuing of passports to Turkish Cypriots. Or will the EU feel compelled to force a solution just to compromise with Turkey's Energy bill for Europe? In Cyrpiot terms, I don't think both communities on the island will allow division to continue for much longer. I think that the European Union bares the overall responsibility in pushing all parties to free the island once and for all. We live inbetween many people with whom consider their national views as the only way forward, but I say this......Cyprus is small, Cyprus is only a small island...Cyprus could benefit the integration of both the Turkish and Greek mainland countries. What do you think will happen if both communities reject the next Cyprus plan? Do you know of a secondary plan?

The demands the ROC is putting forth in these negotiations and all in the past are legal demands, right of return, one man one vote, civil rights and laws for everyone , what the Turks want is to legalize theft of properties, an aparteid situation where if you are Greek your rights are taken away......

What if you're Armenian? Or Maronite? Or Latin? Don't they have their rights taken away? Why are you mitigating the injustice? The regime in the north isn't discriminatory in that sense... it rejects everyone who doesn't consider themselves Turkish.

"Demands" ?? !!! What Fecking "Demands" ? Let's look at who is making demands, who is not to be trusted

The Good People of The Republic are insisting that the settlement is based on International Standards, on the Basic principles of Human Rights, the Sovereign Rights of Nations etc. Every Person in the whole World and every Nation in the entire World has these rights.

THE ILLEGAL DEMANDS, THE DEMANDS FOR DEROGATIONS FROM THE UN CHARTER, DEMANDS FOR DEROGATIONS FROM EU BASIC PRINCIPLES, DEMANDS FOR KEEPING THE SPOILS OF WAR ARE ALL COMING FROM TURKEY AND ITS PUPPET REGIME.

Pres X and his spokespersons are increasingly saying the settlement will be based (and I hope exclusively, 100% based) on these Basic Principles.

Turkey and its Puppet regime are not to be trusted. They have come to settlement talks, which all have agreed should be based on a
BBF
and on UN Resolutions
and on the UN Charter.....

ALL WE GET FROM TURKEY ARE DEMANDS TO RUN ROUGH-SHOD OVER THESE.

To remind everyone that the original BBF agreement between Makarios and Denktash was for a 20-80 territory split.l That is the BBF we agreed to originally. But we forgot that it was Turkey we were dealing with, we thought that there was honor behind the signature of Denktash.
