A group of girls were travelling around the countryside and needed to find somewhere to spend the night, when they came across a hotel. Strangely, the hotel had a sign outside reading 'For Women Only!'.

Intrigued, the women entered the hotel, where the porter explained to them how the hotel worked. There were five floors to the hotel and each floor had a sign describing that floor. The women were allowed to go up one floor at a time, and when they found a floor that they liked, they should stop there. 'However,' said the porter 'once you have gone up a floor, you may not return to the previous floor!'

By now the women were even more curious so they started making their way up to the first floor. There, a sign read 'There are men here for you. They are all mediocre lovers, but they are sensitive and kind'. The girls all burst into laughter and without a moment's thought start to head up the next flight of stairs.

On the second floor the sign read 'There are more men here for you. All these men are expert lovers, but they treat women badly'. Obviously the women took one look at this sign and started towards the next floor.

On the third floor the sign said 'Here are more men for you. These men are all excellent lovers and attentive to the needs of women'. The women consider this and discuss what they should do. One of them said 'Well, if the floors so far are anything to go by, then the next floors must be even better, surely!'. After a hurried discussion, the girls start to make their way to the fourth floor.

The sign on the fourth floor said 'On this floor you can take your pick of men who are all handsome, sensitive, rich, single and interesting. All of these men are superb lovers and always leave a woman satisfied'. Here the girls started to consider whether to stay, or to go up and see what the final floor would hold for them. After much wrangling, the girls decided that they couldn't miss out on what the final floor held and practically sprinted up the steps, barging each other out of the way in order to get to the men.

When they reached the final floor, the girls saw the sign and hurriedly began to read it. It said 'Here there are no men. This floor exists only to demonstrate that there is not, nor has there ever been, any way to satisfy a woman.'
