Dear all,

Just been wondering, what if your favorite fruit and vegetable. I like passion fruits. But generally in Cyprus which are the big fruits and veggies?

Okra cooked with tomatoes and onions in olive oil .... Mmm!

...or 'ladies fingers'. More like MUMMY's (Egyptian) fingers. Lovely as per O's recipe with a nice rice pilav.

My fav veg are Asparagus(preferably wild when in Cyprus ) and Artichokes - all recipees.

Fruit, nothing beats Pomegranates or a watermelon (+ hellim/halloumi).

In greek that is known as papoutsosika, I thought in english they called it cactus fruit.

I've always known it as prickly pear.

On my way to work this morning I noticed a bloody great cactus covered in them.

Some of the members on here should stop and pick them (I will give the location if I am asked), it will stop them producing so much shit!
