ASPROYIA

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby denizaksulu » Thu Jul 30, 2009 3:52 pm

If there was ever an agreed solution to the Cyprus prob. I would unhesitatingly go and live in my village. It would be the only place in the world I would call 'MY HOME'.

Of course all TCs are welcome back. The GCs have worked hard to make the little left to them another paradise.

Before these thoughtful TCs leave the north ... can they do something about removing the Turkish troops they were so keen to have all these years. Only so that perhaps some of the GCs can get back to their rightful homes instead of leaving the whole place for Turkish Settlers to sing and dance in.

Thank you ... will the last one to leave kindly put out the lights!

The above article (in Turkish) talks about a gathering of Greek and Turkish speaking villagers of Asproyis/Paphos, who wish to return to their own homes in the event of a settlement. The get together happened at celebrations (perhaps a traditional Panayir/ Panegyri). The TC villagers expressed their wishes to return to their lands and homes and live together with their Greek Cypriot neighbors. Good for them, I say.

So not all TCs want partition. There is still hope then.

Oh, no!!! Do not transmit such news, because the more the nationalists in the north hear of them, the more they will insist on permanent and guaranteed derogations on the freedom of settlement between the two sides /states, so as to safeguard the permanent Turkish ethnic purity /ownership of the north!

That's it, I've packed my bags. Where is the nearest unemployment and housing office in Free Nicosia.
