"Flights ban review plea dismissed"

Not much detail as yet....maybe no need :P

A legal challenge to the long-running ban on direct flights between UK airports and Northern Cyprus has been defeated in court.

Cyprus Turkish Airlines (CTA) and its UK tour operator, CTA Holidays Limited, had sought a judicial review against the UK Government's 35-year ban.

But Mr Justice Wyn Williams, handing down his ruling at Birmingham Civil Justice Centre, dismissed the call for a review.

More details by the BBC.

The Court has clearly made a decision based on LEGALITIES.

This is a second example of the courts taking the legal stand (the first being the Orams ruling).

Anyone think that the Court of Appeal will side with the Oram in November?

I think this shows that long-term the trnc is doomed as an entity and with it Turkish EU aspirations if things remain as they are. The only way is to reach a AMICABLE and FAIR solution between the two sides. I think the deadline of the end of the year is a false one. EU negotiations are effectively stalled anyway so even going beyond December should not be a problem, as long as negotiations are conducted in good faith.

well done tell the turkish f ers to go to hell if they want to drop down times and save fuel they will remvoe the army troops and fly to a LEGAL state

Also, it said the ban unfairly restricted Turkish Cypriots and their companies wishing to travel and conduct business with the EU and the rest of the world.

wellt hey should of thought of that before they invaded and split our island in two... they cry about a situationt hey put thsemlvs in.. idiots
