There is a shotgun (used for game hunting not robbing banks) in almost every house in Cyprus (north/south)
It is not an offence to have a shotgun & cartridges in your house.

Iceman, please help me out here.!

How does arresting someone for being drunk and disorderly, or even wearing a T-shirt with a RoC flag on it, to having their home searched. This never happens in any True Democratic countries. Does every offenders, no matter what they did, get their house and homes searched by the police with or without a search warrant.? What is the justification for such brutal invasion of one's privacy if violent crime has not been committed or intended on committing, to warrant such a search.?

I can just about hear voices from the north asking, "What is a search warrant"???

BREAKING NEWS 27.JUL.09
Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika newspaper reports that a young man, named Koray Basdogrultmaci, who was holding a flag of the Republic of Cyprus, was attacked and beaten up yesterday in occupied Famagusta by a gang from Turkey.

The 'police' arrested both the attackers and Mr Basdogrultmaci. - Copyright © Famagusta Gazette 2009

hmmm....

This is funny because the link Deniz posted says a different story.

He was warned for being drunk and disorderly by the public and the guy attacked them, so he was not beaten up for carrying a flag, he actually attacked the people who he was pissing off in the first place.

Either way it is a stupid incident and needless to look for a deeper meaning in it.

But some people here being who they are will do otherwise as I am certain.

Yep the usual culprits kicking shit without checking the facts and jumping to conclusions.
