Really? So what's the best season to cultivate ancient artifacts and GC real estate arsehole?
You can't taint all the TCs with that one old boy. Arsehole is what you see every morning when you are shaving, assuming that you are not a spano. Most TCs are law abiding and hard working. We have same percentage of criminals that you do in the south, whatever the criminal activity is. What is shameful is the practices of the RoC in dealing with the TCs in an absolute racist manner.
I'll give you an example. My brother tried to sell wheat to the RoC few years back. RoC turned it down on the grounds that they couldn't prove if the wheat was grown on TC land. You call that free trade. That is discrimination of the worst kind. They could have said, show us the deeds of your land and in seconds calculate the probability of this land producing the tonnage of wheat. But no, no trade. Its' called suffer you bastards and my reply to the RoC is get stuffed. I will trade with whoever I chose and it will never be with the RoC again.
Just to point out to those who are not familiar with the practices of the TRNC. A TC cannot hold his Kotchans and accept GC land. The kotchans are exchanged with the eshdeger system. I am certain that RoC is aware of that.
That's not true. Some TCs only gave copies of their original deeds from owning land in the south to the "trnc" in order to gain GC land in the north, by simply stating that they did not have the original deeds any longer. I know this from certain family members who have done this, and I don't think they were the only ones. Besides this little loophole, it could also be possible to have bought GC agricultural land very cheaply and then grown the wheat on it, then try and sell it across the "Green Line". How else would he have land in the north to grow wheat if your brother is from the southern Cyprus and he still has his original deeds for land in the south, but yet he is growing wheat on the land in the north.? Did your brother buy original TC land in the north to grow his wheat, or was it grown on the GC land that he bough very cheaply.?
This land is in Lurucina which is under our control and has been in the family for generations. We also have land which is in GC control. When my late Father went to do esdeger, he was told to surrender all his kotchans for 80 donums of GC land. What he was being offered was nothing compared to his land. He had no intention of doing such an unfair exchange so he told them to get stuffed.
I am not aware of anybody who kept their kotchans after esdeger. It must be due to corruption not the norm. Don't have the Kotchans is not an excuse, because records of the Kotchans were kept on both sides. I suggest your family members were probably connected in the UBP circles. Because CTP supporters never got such favours.
