My dear VP, a Language must fit with the social, cultural, historical etc background of a People. Even though I love the English Language, and although English suits the criteria I list for England, it doesn't meet them for CY and neither does a standardised modern Greek.

What about the other examples USA etc...

No, seriously I have no experience of the matter but suggest that the US has adapted English to suit, perhaps with new words, many of them from immigrant groups perhaps, Italian, Irish and of course from Hispanic peoples.

It is such a shame that when I was a kid, I used to listen to a play on the GC radio with a leading character called Phrosu. All the village listend to it. Yet I listen to GC media now and I understand very little of it. It is a real shame and must be reveresed.
