The Unifying Power of the Cypriot Peoples' Language

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Oracle » Sun Jul 26, 2009 11:57 pm

Yes dear!

... on the one hand you reluctantly admit Cypriot is a dialect of Greek and on the other hand, you still pretend it's a language of your making (typical GC male arrogance; usually confined to Sunday evening at the kafeneio).

Akin to you pretending on the one hand you are not Greek, but only Cypriot ...

Eventually you will admit the reality and stop eroding our only strong-point which gives us some clout to fight off the Turkification of our Island!

Well now we have established that CY is a distinct Language might we move on to see whether it has potential as a Unifier of all CYs?

If so, what would need to be done to help any such process.?

When? :?

Even The Cypriot has admitted (by comparison to Spanish and Portuguese) that CY is a dialect of Greek! :D

.... or do you not understand English?

1. Teach it in schools.
2. De-Greekify the GC media.
3. De-Turkify the TC Media.

while you are at it.
1. Remove the Control of the NG from Greece
2. Do similar to TC NG.

We may just start getting somewhere.

Where dear? You're hallucinating. (BTW Portuguese isn't really a dialect of Spanish - I was being facetious).

Not just my making. And I played a secondary role. And don't insult me by putting a G in front of my C.

I am only Cypriot. I know how much you'd love to claim an intellect like mine for Greece but sorry... it's all for Cyprus!

We could explore it. But first you'd need to ban the likes of Oracle, and other equally challenged folk, whose role here will be to disrupt and to undermine.

A bit like what I used to do at Greek school, when they used to go on about Kolokotronis and that it was wrong to say 'garkola' for bed.
