Then I don't know why the north and Turkey are in a great hurry to get a referendum by December. Why not wait for another 100 years and have a referendum them. What the hell is their hurry.? I mean, there was no hurry in the first 30 years after 1974, but in the last 5 years, everything is in a hurry. Had it not been the fact that the RoC is now in the EU, there would not be such a hurry. With passing of time and the RoC being in the EU and possibly oil off her shores, the RoC will have more friends to cut deals with while you in the north sit and wait for your 100 years to come and go without a future. If that’s your only mission and vision in life, you might as well gauge out your eyes, because you really don’t need them anymore with your way of thinking. In any case, you do not control what’s left of yours or the TCs future, but only the RoC and Turkey. All you have is a keyboard and a lot of wishful writings. I’m sorry to tell this to another human being, let alone to another TC, no matter how much of a “Turks in Cyprus” you may feel that you are, that you will lead a very sad and depressing life and will die a very disappointed man with the kind of destructive points of views you hold on the extinction of your community and the destruction of Cyprus, your parent birth country. You really are one sick puppy.!

Time may pass, but UN resolution does not disappear on Cyprus, therefore you should not think that you can get an automatic partition with recognition just because passing of time. Let alone 100 years, but in far less than that, there won't be any TCs left in the north, but only "Turks in Cyprus" who will not qualify for a RoC, EU passports and all those living in the north will only be seen as Illegal Aliens and kept out of the EU along with Turkey. I don't think Turkey is going to wait that long to miss out on the EU just to make you happy with a divided Cyprus, so don't make any plans to leave any of the GC land that you may hold now to be passed onto your children as inheritance. They are going to need to make their own money the old fashion way, by earning it.!

Kikapu , I'm honoured to have met a genuine true Cypriot such as you , you have my utmost respect and you know that .

Thank you my friend, and the sad part is Miltiades, I probably feel more sorry for VP's demise than he feels for himself.

VP would rather have 1 million times worse demise than to be a minority and live as a second class citizen in a GC dominated state without effective guarantees from Turkey..... etc. etc.........zzzzz

Speaking of street characters in Cyprus, we had ours in Famagusta, both called Andrikos and both described as "pellos" crazy. Now I know that one was born with Down's syndrome and the other had Huntingdon's Chorea.

The interesting thing was the free run of the town that they enjoyed and universal charity with which they were treated- they would be fed by whichever house they stopped at to ask for food or water. They were given clothes to wear and always treated kindly. This was a custom, to treat the "crazies" in a special way.

Does the same custom apply in TC society? I am curious not provoking a tussle.

A story re one of the two Andrikos. The one with Huntingdon's, who had obvious motion problems was caught urinating in public near the fire brigade station. The police officer was a new to Famagusta TC who arrested Andrikos and took him to court next morning.

The judge was looking down at the charge sheets and started to recite the charge: "Andreas X you have been found urinating ........ " halfway through the reading Andreas says loudly:

"I shit on you". The judge looked up and instantly recognised Andrikos.

"Andrikos, my boy what are you doing here? Now you go on home, but before you go show me the person who brought you here."

Andrikos gets down from the dock and passing the officer said: "I am done, now it is your turn" and lurched and weaved his way out of the court.

Iceman,

It is an interesting and wise custom when you think about it. The mentally challenged were given freedom, nourishment and companionship. It definitely beats a mental asylum. Not that there is no cruelty when the person is treated as a sort of town mascot, but on balance it is better to be a mascot than a drug filled prisoner.

Kikapu you are the one who is blind, the life style in the TRNC is just fine and will continue that way no matter what you do not matter how many pieces of paper you collect or what christain club you may join the bottom line is that if there is nothing better on the table than what we have today then there will never be a solution. We are in this for the long haul Turks that arrived 35 years ago and those that arrived 450 years ago are as you with many other GCs say are all Turks, so this "threat" you continue to throw at us does not cut it, so dont bother. What you have to understand is that we will not give into GC demands of taking away our community rights and forcing us into a minority status with no effective say in the running of a united country and therefore our future.

You obviously have not worked out what all the rush is about its clearly to reveal for a second time the side that does not want a solution, you rejected 1 UN brokered plan feel free to do the same a second time and fall into the trap of no dialogue and posssible relaxation of isolation on the TRNC. If Turkey has to choose between the EU and the TRNC she did it once with the ports when you all thought she would yield to pressure and recognize the "RoC" therefore automatically derecognizing the TRNC, hello didnt happen and it wont happen until a compromise is made and thats whats being cooked up right now. You continue with your one sided and bised views you have to comprehend that we are a side to this and will not be pushed around our special ties with Turkey will continue I know it makes you sick but for us its vital to obtaining the best deal we can for the TCs, so your silly little sacastic and snide remarks only show your own lack of understanding and character.

What demise? I have a great life and would not change it for the world..the TRNC is my home I love every minute I live here among Turks of Cyprus.
