It's all right for some Cypriots then. Most of us will be shot if we tried to live in some (40%) of our Island!

Well it was on the 31st of Octber 1961 ......

Is your name 'Uncle Albert' from Only Fools and............... ..

During the ....winter of 1961 - 62 , my first year in London , I moved to Streatham and lived in a road where a barber shop that was always busy attracted my attention in that every time I went by someone was having a shave . I always fancied my self as older than my 15 years and thought a shave was something I had to have . Walked in one Saturday , sat down and waited my turn and when eventualy it came I stood up walked to the barbers chair sat down and confidently asked the barber to give me a shave !
This barber turned round , reached for a glass that was on a tray amongst other glassess nesting with a bottle of scotch, filled it almost to the bream with whisky , looked me up and down and said , if you can down this in one go I will give you a shave , I looked up and said , Sir Im too young to drink that , You are fockiing right you are too young he replied , come back when you are a man.

Jimmy the barber he was , on being told that I was from Cyprus this guy , brilliant charachter , gave me a shave and didnt charge me !!
We became good mates for years , Jimmy was a true Cypriot married to an east ender , alas no children , but he always was happy and such a charachter. He cut your hair while having a glass of scotch , his favourite drink.
Jimmy served in the British army , he came to Britain in 1936 !
He swore a lot and expected his clientele to swear at him !!!

Sounds like doctor from Evdim...There was this doctor in Limassol who loved swearing at everything & everyone...unless his patients gave him a mouthful of his own medicine, he wouldn't treat them.

Are you trying to put the blame on Jimmy the barber for your foul mouth and fondness of 'The Devil's Brew' ?, another example of the weakness of character you exhibit in almost ALL of your postings.

I reckon a good kick in the backside would do you no harm, who knows, it might even awaken you to the reality of your sad disposition.

(As to the bit about "Come back when you are a man", one wonders if you will EVER be in a position to return for that shave)

Then I don't know why the north and Turkey are in a great hurry to get a referendum by December. Why not wait for another 100 years and have a referendum them. What the hell is their hurry.? I mean, there was no hurry in the first 30 years after 1974, but in the last 5 years, everything is in a hurry. Had it not been the fact that the RoC is now in the EU, there would not be such a hurry. With passing of time and the RoC being in the EU and possibly oil off her shores, the RoC will have more friends to cut deals with while you in the north sit and wait for your 100 years to come and go without a future. If that’s your only mission and vision in life, you might as well gauge out your eyes, because you really don’t need them anymore with your way of thinking. In any case, you do not control what’s left of yours or the TCs future, but only the RoC and Turkey. All you have is a keyboard and a lot of wishful writings. I’m sorry to tell this to another human being, let alone to another TC, no matter how much of a “Turks in Cyprus” you may feel that you are, that you will lead a very sad and depressing life and will die a very disappointed man with the kind of destructive points of views you hold on the extinction of your community and the destruction of Cyprus, your parent birth country. You really are one sick puppy.!

Time may pass, but UN resolution does not disappear on Cyprus, therefore you should not think that you can get an automatic partition with recognition just because passing of time. Let alone 100 years, but in far less than that, there won't be any TCs left in the north, but only "Turks in Cyprus" who will not qualify for a RoC, EU passports and all those living in the north will only be seen as Illegal Aliens and kept out of the EU along with Turkey. I don't think Turkey is going to wait that long to miss out on the EU just to make you happy with a divided Cyprus, so don't make any plans to leave any of the GC land that you may hold now to be passed onto your children as inheritance. They are going to need to make their own money the old fashion way, by earning it.!

Since you are about 20 years younger than me , you may not remember the Dentist in Limassol who rode a motorised bike and would never stop at either red light , crossroads or any other roads , he just rode his bike straight on oblivious of any other traffic. Well known he was in Limassol and on coming across him drivers gave him way.
M , do tell me do you remember ARCHONTIS AND KIAZIMIS , a T/C and a G/C characters to whom a Limassol judge , in order to stop them fighting , gave each a half of Limassol !!
