We are all citizens of Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

And nope, when we have the right solution, Turkish will never again be an Official language, forever to divide us!

P.S. welcome .... :D

The official languages in Cyprus and Greek, Turkish, and English, just look at our money.

He said he was a Kibrisli (Cypriot) and since the whole world sees the whole island as the RoC (Kibris), he is at home no matter where he is living. Only "Turks in Cyprus" live in the "trnc", but Cypriots (Kibrislilar) live all over the island.!

You are all welcome in Cyprus. I want Turkish Cypriots to refer to themselves as Turks from Cyprus, instead of Cypriot, because Cypriot does not really tell me much, you could be anything from that. Just like I am Greek, you are Turkish, no real fuss. The younger generation could not care less where you are from, as long as you are of good character it's okay with me.

If you want to see how much us Greek Cypriots hate you, come to Cyprus, go to the beach, and see how people respond. The truth is, nobody would say anything bad about you. I see Turkish Cypriots in, Jumbo, beach area, Larnaca town center, and nobody says anything.

In every fight there is always the person who started it, and in many cases that person is not involved in the fight. Just ask yourself which nation(s) have benefited from the split?

You will understand than we are not that different from each other, it's all this puppet masters that control what most of us think and feel, and the idiotic citizens believe them.

I was born in Stroumbi , Paphos , my parents grandparents and beyond were all born in Cyprus , would I and my ancestors be Cypriots -KIPREI - or are we just Greeks . Well I bloody well resent being called a Greek , Im a Greek CYPRIOT NOT a Greek from Cyprus , just as Kibrisly is a Turkish CYPRIOT .
To share a language and religion , as many nations do , does not mean that the nationals of one nation adopt the ethnicity of the other.
Cyprus has a history stretching back 10 thousand years , I wonder what nationality did these ancient Cypriots have back then !!

A Greek is not bound to location, and in many cases has little to do with the country Greece. I think they were still called Greek, if not Greek then some other nationality, depending on who had the land.

The problem is you have something like 400,000 GC outside Cyprus who commonly refer to themselves as Greeks. We are Greeks, and just because you was born in Cyprus does not mean you are not Greek, you are still Greek.

Think of it like somebody saying British or English, it's the same logic. We are not the same with people from Greece, I agree, and I am not pro-Greece either, but I am still Greek.

I've got an idea... given that you're from Cyprus, to avoid confusion, just say you're 'Cypriot'.

Then, if they ask which bit, say there's only one Cyprus; the northern third is illegally occupied by Turkey's army. It's a chance for a history lesson.

Otherwise, you perpetuate the myth that Turkey is keen to sell the world that their are two Cypruses.... the 'Greek' part and the 'Turkish' part.

And we don't want that do we?

35 years and counting for every year that passes the split gets more permanent and irreversable, the world knows of the divide and that GCs live in the south and Tcs in the north...in 100 years time this will be the standard thought throughout the world.
