GG ... if you are going to analyse what he said, instead of making assumptions as whom it applies ... you're going to have to quote him as evidence for any stance!

oracle, i watched the video twice. you watched it at least once. i don't need to quote, besides, i have to get off to work now. unlike you, i work outside, and am not near a computer at all during the day. i'mm be back tonight, and will deal with this thread again then.

the point is there. he is talking about us being in this all together, not once against the other.
time to forgive, everyone needs to forgive, and to get on with our lives instead of bickering.....

the dogs are calling me. my day has just begun. i hope you have a nice afternoon/evening.

I've got two PCs on the go at the moment  ... have a good day! .... and I must move on to my "serious" computer now, too!

From what I gather, CC is the new CoC of Oracles forces. He gave a speech on something called unity. 500,000 men are now marching to unite the whole Mediterranean region. ....................Did I see them waving Greek flags?

CC was always political in every film he made from the early silent, slapstick ones up to The Great Dictator. You don't spend the early years of life down in the Elephant, London without picking up such things as a radical social conscience. I should know.

In CC's case may also explain his setting up United Artists (with others) to get away from the restrictive capitalist studio system in Hollywood and his leaving the USA in the '50s at the time of the anti-communist Macarthy witch-hunts.

there you are, fluff off Charli Chaplin in this plea, and in essence you fail every soldier that died in the First World War...let alone the sake of our Own humanity as "Greeks" and "Turks" on this tiny island.

...there is this choice: to unite, to Hate and fight real enemies: Hunger, Ignorance, Disease

or we plunder, dismissing the thought that this Love, as One, is a power as great.

Hi RW, I read this and wasn't going to post a reply but then I thought that silence is an ambiguous reply and the post deserved an unequivocal answer and further it's not a post I could really remain silent on cos I really want to say to you that I admire and envy your stand-alone, free-thinking ways, whilst I, on the other hand, in so many areas, remain constipated and indoctrinated in my thinking.

We could also all learn something from your Humanity first approach imho.

It was your comment on WW1 that makes me say all this. By any test you are right, but I am the victim of brain-washing on this. I envy you.

GG ... if you are going to analyse what he said, instead of making assumptions as whom it applies ... you're going to have to quote him as evidence for any stance!

"Let us all unite!"

"Let us... do away with national barriers."

What is your stance to which this quote applies?

The 43,000 Turkish troops keep us divided with their guns, perhaps?

Sam wrote:"Let us... do away with national barriers."

And what of those barriers set up by the green line which the Turks claim as their "border"?
