Thanks, halil...

That's quite a big gun to fight off a stupid, snotty teenager!

How about dealing with some of the Nazis on your side of the current divide?

Military regimes, however, organise such exercises also; but they are in denial of all freedoms... Here is an example from the northern part of Cyprus currently occupied by Turkey's army:

Yup ... nonsense!

Nonsense, Oracle!

As pappa-sydney acknowledges himself, some of the teenage demonstrators are part of extremist organisations. While some of the people in the above photos are simply misguided patriots.

It is these yougsters who are the future of our island. It is these potentially 'dangerous' youth whowill de-stabilise the future of any 're-united' Cyprus. What do you do about this in a democratic country?

Relax Deniz... these 'dangerous' Cypriot teenagers were bank-rolled by the archbishop. But when he saw this thread he realised the damage they were doing and has changed his tactics. His Eminence/Beatitude has recently been divinely inspired to redirect campaign funds to lawyers. With God's help, lawsuits rather than flags will now be waved at Turkey who will have to answer to accusations of serious human rights violations rather than hollow slogans. And the 300 teenagers will go back to their bedrooms to watch reruns of 60s classic movies...

Was it a Greek Orthodox church or a Greek Cypriot Orthodox church?

Enough to confuse Einstein.

I must ask my wife next time she goes with her neighbour to one of the tea-mornings - to the Greek Orthodox church in Welling. Mind you she did say she met with a priest from Greece and one from Cyprus.

When Cypriots refer to the Greek Orthodox Church, they don't mean the Greek Orthodox Church, they mean the Greek Orthodox Church. Only confused and ignorant people don't appreciate the distinction. But, thanks to God, his eminence/beatitude has finally figured it out.

The priest from Greece is Greek Orthodox while the priest from Cyprus is Greek Orthodox.

When Greek Cypriots refer to the Greek Orthodox Church, they mean just that, the Orthodox Church that has Greek liturgy and cultural traditions. This includes the Church of Cyprus as well as many others.

Fairly simple? Or maybe not. 8)

The good people of West Ham and Millwall still live together quite comfortably in East London, despite the events of the other night.

God bless you, your eminence, for clearing it all up, showing us the light and leading us to salvation. We're investing all our hopes in you. And we believe in you.

Should they then fly both Greek and Cypriot flags or one Byzantine flag once posted by Oracle instead.
