For GR and Miltiades, the Blue and White!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Please can someone in Cyprus confirm whether it's true that every mainstream political party in the Republic has condemned this demonstration? A demonstration which, I understand, was also verbally abusing Cyprus's democratically elected president, Christofias? An attack on the democratically elected president of Cyprus is an attack on the Cypriot people, is it not?

Am I alone in drawing parallels between the antics of these disgraceful fools – and their supporters on this forum – with the acts of EOKA B and the junta in 1974, against Cyprus's democratically elected president?

Oracle. This is no laughing matter. I'm exercising my freedom of speech in telling you to shut up.

Well the Greek flag is NOT banned in Cyprus and if there are enough Greeks who want to show support, that's fine! I don't see the problem with that.

If both my parents were GCs then I would only fly the Cypriot flag. But if I chose to fly the Greek flag, it's only because I'm half Greek, but in Cyprus I would choose the RoC flag. So, if these people are GCs and not Greeks, then I too am not happy that they chose the Greek flag above the RoC flag!

They're not Greek citizens in Cyprus, Oracle, lending their support. Please. And real Greek supporters of Cyprus wouldn't be so brazenly stupid.

The flags are only half the story.... I'm waiting to hear from people on the island what took place exactly. It was a big news story a few days ago, as I understand. I'm suprised we all missed it.

Please can someone confirm whether arrests have been made?

I know a few Greeks who, because of the EU, work in Cyprus on short-term contracts. They remain Greek citizens. Not all who reside in Cyprus are Cypriot citizens. So then of course, since the Greek flag is NOT banned, they are free to fly it.

I know there are ramblings of discontent about Christofias supposedly accepting a rotating Presidency (Kifeas posted something just the other day ... but I am too scared of his wrath to ask him for further details :? ).

But why should that lead to arrests?

Arrest because of Greek flags or because the holders were NAZIS?
If it was for the first then you have to refer to ROC's constitution.!! which our politicians insisting that its still valid.

I was referring to the demonstrators. Please, O. They were not Greek citizens. They were silly Cypriot teenagers in the main.
