Miltiades do you remember any of the regulars at Alassia? By regulars I mean people who came there in the winter, not just summer visitors.

Thats a long time ago Nikitas , Alasia was run by my late uncle Yiannis , along with his wife Valentini and helped by many . As a young boy 12 years old I would finish school at Ayios Loukas and cycle to Alasia to help out but mostly because I wanted an ice cream and a cold drink , could only get them by helping out.
A regular there was my uncle Takis , a tall handsome man , almost blond and English looking who loved life to its full and adored , just as I do , his alcoholic bevs.
That was back in 1957-59 .
Takis was a well known man in Varosia , run a do it your self shop and the only one who specialized in picture framing .
My other uncle who also was a regular was Andreas , Taki's brother , a dashing handsome man who used to make me wash his car every Sunday for enan tchiften !!!
Those memories of Alasia are what have made me love Kourion beach so much , somehow the two bring back so much memories of the good old days .
Just to bore you a little more , I first met my uncle Takis in September of 1953 . Had just been taken to the Limassol orphanage following my mothers death at the 10th Sep.1953 earthquake that destroyed Stroumbi . Was in the front of the building when this black limousine pulled in to the yard and this tall blond man got out of the car , oozing confidence and charm , cars were very rare in those days in Cyprus , he approached us and asked if we knew the earthquaque orphans . My older brother responded telling him we are.
He introduced himself and told us that he was my late mothers first cousin. Cut a long story short , this wonderful man lived in Famagusta , heard of the earthquake in Stroumbi , knew his cousin was living there and went looking for her , on being told of her death was informed that her children were taken to the Limassol Pediki Stegi , father was badly injured . He rushed to us . I respected and loved this man and when later on he took me to his house to stay with his family I would ....wash his care for a shilling !!!
