GRANTS FOR REFUGEES!!!!!!!

Postby concerned30 » Thu Jul 23, 2009 7:20 am

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY ONLY PEOPLE WHOSE FATHERS ARE REFUGEES ARE ALLOWED A GRANT. WHY GIVE 50000 TO ONE PERSON AND NOT 25000 TO BOTH?
THIS IS THE MOST STUPID LAW OF THE CYPRUS GOVERNMENT

The most stupid law that they are talking about is making refugee status being derived from either parent. Within 2 generations the whole population will qualify as refugees! What will we do then?

Maybe the country doesn't have enough money for all the refugees.

There were probably more women refugees, and they live longer and all sorts of other gender-bias reasons.

Hopefully we don't lose sight of the real issue which is the restoration of Human Rights so that all may return to their rightful homes.

I think you ill find that our dear President has increased the housing grant for female "refugees"" who become engaged or married to €39,000.

That is why I read about about my son's engagement in the paper before he told me!

we are talking about the grant people get from the goverment when they get engaged or married.
yes you are right its 39000 but if you decide to get the money whan you have your first baby its 50000
im just asking why dont they give a smaller amount and give it to everyone whether its mum refugee or dad
the only thing we are entitled of (in the case that its the mother that is the refugee)is a low interest loan which may take up to 4 years to be approved.....
