Mr Ozgurgun met with the OIC General Secretary’s Assistant on Economic Matters Hamed Abajiye Opeloyeru who is in the Republic for Peace and Freedom Day celebrations.
For his part, OIC General Secretary’s Assistant on Economic Matters Hamed Abajiye Opeloyeru expressed his pleasure at meeting with the TRNC Foreign Ministers.
He said that he would be informing the OIC General Secretary Ekmelettin Ihsanoglu on the demands of the TRNC.
Has OIC forgiven Turkey for destroying the Caliphate ?

Problem is the “TRNC” is not even recognized by the OIC, but classifies Turkish Cypriots under the “OIC Observer States, Communities, Organizations & Institutions” under the label… “Turkish Cypriot State”!

Mustafa Kemal just put the last nail into the coffin. Thats all.
"The War of Independence was promoted as a Jihad in defense of the Caliphate and Muslim Unity, and against foreign Christian invaders. Kemal professed to be representing the interests of the sultan-caliph until he could be freed from foreign control."

"The Khalifat movement had made various interventions in support of Turkey, even organizing funds for Mustapha Kemal's war with the Greeks, and opposing Arab independence since they saw that such a development would weaken the Caliphate. Thus, when the news of abolition reached them the Khalifat committe of India was thunderstruck, their icon, the Khalifat, had been broken and their idol, Mustapha Kemal had been the iconoclast."

There's plenty more material in Google books along these lines.
Kemal used the money and blood of pious Moslems to destroy the Caliphate. If that is not backstabbing, then I don't know what is.
