As I've called them the Falklands, I've tipped my hand a little.

No surprises there, then!

Are there any uncontested associations to which you lean?

Well, you know Brits are by and large very patriotic, as much if not more than most Cypriots, and I have to say I fall into that category. I suppose the Falklands fall into the same situation as Gibraltar as the citizens of both colonies have been asked in a referendum about their wishes and both have resoundingly wanted to stay British.
Argentina has been offered a 50% share in the oil which we expect to find there and initially they agreed to this. However, with elections soon, the Argie gov has decided to cancel the agreement and tough it out.
They thought it would work last time and they paid dearly for it.
With a son in Afghanistan, I don't want to see yet another place where servicemen, of any nationality, pay for politicians arrogance with their lives.

Your son's in Afghanistan  and you're in the occupied areas....is there a family fetish with invasions and occupations?

Got to keep the fuzzy-wuzzies in their place, don't you know! :D

Hope your son's not a para...he won't like it up 'im!

He is a para, as a matter of fact. He tells me the Taliban don't like the taste of cold steel.

You'd think they'd be more afraid of cruise missiles and drones flown by joystick from Florida. :?

From what we hear the drones seem to be killing more innocent jundies than Taliban. Trouble is, with those turbans on - they all looks the bleedin' same.

No, but I did hear the one about the eoka man who was sent to London to blow up a bus.
He burned his mouth on the exhaust pipe.

VW you should be ashamed of yourself mate. Your son is laying his life on the line for the sake and establishment of a democracy, in a country ravaged by thugs murderers, rapists (bit like north Cyprus I'd say) and his father is living in the most UNdemocartic, unrecognised, occupied country in the world.

I bet he is real proud of his dad a?

You are a bloody hypocrite to say the least.

I wish him safety in his endeavours and battles for a better place, where human and democratic rights are respected and not be under the dictatorship of the bullys.

Shame you don't support the same for the GCs and Cyprus.

Isn't "military genius" a contradiction in terms?
You should know that the British Army justs kills terrorists with out fear or favour. Mau-Mau, IRA, EOKA-B, Taliban, Al-Qeida - We just kill them all and let God sort them out.
God has a hard-on for the British Armed Forces because we kill everything we see. He plays his games, we play ours. To show our appreciation for giving us so much power, we keep heaven packed with fresh souls...
The British Army was here before God.

I stand corrected. These minor terrorist organisations all start sounding the same. A bit like the People's Front of Judea.
