A fifth option on this poll should be "Should Gibraltar become RoC's first imperial colony?" :D

As I've called them the Falklands, I've tipped my hand a little.

No surprises there, then!

Are there any uncontested associations to which you lean?

Well, you know Brits are by and large very patriotic, as much if not more than most Cypriots, and I have to say I fall into that category. I suppose the Falklands fall into the same situation as Gibraltar as the citizens of both colonies have been asked in a referendum about their wishes and both have resoundingly wanted to stay British.
Argentina has been offered a 50% share in the oil which we expect to find there and initially they agreed to this. However, with elections soon, the Argie gov has decided to cancel the agreement and tough it out.
They thought it would work last time and they paid dearly for it.
With a son in Afghanistan, I don't want to see yet another place where servicemen, of any nationality, pay for politicians arrogance with their lives.

Gordoom would love a Falklands War right now to save his skin like it did for Thatcher... The bastard!

I think they should stay British.

However, do we have the forces available to retain them any more...?

He is a para, as a matter of fact. He tells me the Taliban don't like the taste of cold steel.

You'd think they'd be more afraid of cruise missiles and drones flown by joystick from Florida. :?
