BARBARIANS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

At a time when both communities want a settlement, and on an emotional day for all who are Cypriots, what is the actual point of this thread, if not to incite more hatred.

By the way, does anyone know if this Sun reporter was at my mums villlage of Sandallar some time around August 74. I'd really like to see his account of what went on. Do you think he would use these words ?

BARBARIANS.......

Earlier today two threads were started by Gabira and by Halil propagandising about Celebrations. This thread, which I started are a reaction to those threads which were started first. Indeed I bit my tongue until a third one was started.

LB74 - I now look forward to your condemnation of Halil and Gabira and others who chose to rub the noses of those who lost loved ones on this forum for starting these Celebratory threads.

Indeed Gabira likens this day to the phenomenal Moon landings (which say a lot about her appreciation of scientific progress, the parochial village idiot) ... and not two days ago she was telling us how the Mehmetcik only did half a job with killing and raping GCs.

Go figure ... do we really want these Turk infected "TC"s back, to put us through this again? Or should they just join the ones they most resemble back in Turkey and leave our Island to those who respect Human rights, Democracy and living as equal Human beings striving for the improvement of mankind ....

May I end this sad day by thanking our tissy friends who have shown their respect for their fellows who lost friends, relatives and villagers on the even sadder day 35 years ago by allowing us to grieve in peace and who chose not to celebrate.

Thanks.

...thanks bill.

indeed while we rant "Greek" or "Turk" we forget this day of shame has no glory for any of us as Cypriots. Our enemy is not each other, it is the ignorance which compels us to deny the suffering we cause with our pride misguided.

Bill, thanks for that and I condemn all and anyone who rubs the noses of those who lost loved ones.
Absolutely, no quarrel there.

What I don't do though is trawl thru each and every post on the Cyprob page especially on a day like yesterday (your headline made me look here). I neither have the time or inclination, especially on topics that are headed 20th July celebrations etc I know what they will contain, the papers are full of it, the media is full of it. If you felt provoked then your reaction is as expected.

Take it from me though that the TC's are grateful for the intervention that occurred in '74.

There is no doubt in any of our minds of what lay ahead for us after the coup. I know a lot will disagree but we were shit scared about the aftermath.

And without a shadow of doubt atrocities were carried out and many innocent souls were lost.

They are all resting in peace now.

@74LB
you say a lot of tcs were grateful for the intervention...after looking at the video below can you honestly see any gcs accepting turkey as a guarantor again?...you can't have it both ways...don't the turkish attrocities count as much as the gc/tc attrocities?
