20th July - A Monumental Day In The History Of Mankind

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

20th July - A Monumental Day In The History Of Mankind

Postby Gabira » Mon Jul 20, 2009 4:30 am

Man lands on the moon 20th July 1969.

The next comparable Great Human Achievement to the Moon Landing was the launch of Operation Atilla (20.7.74) in Cyprus by Turkish Peace Operation Army.

The Peace Operation ultimately saved and preserved the lives and fate of 100's & 1000's of Greek & Turkish Cypriots living on the Island.

Today is a day of great reflection :

- Mourning the consequences, ungratefulness and deceipt by the fascist GC's of the time which resulted in many unnecessary deaths of innocent TC's and many EOKA'ist GC's.

- A time to celebrate the 35 years of restoration of peace, tranquility and harmony on the Island by the Turkish Army.

Today is a great opportunity for GC's to unify with TC's and celebrate this monumental day ... the day ALL Cypriots were saved from wraith of EOKA and the Kalamara army

HAPPY 20TH JULY TO ALL CYPRIOTS

The Turks are the reason why so many 1000s of Cypriots died. The problem of Cyprus is the Turkish expansionism. The Turks keep invading our island, kill the native Cypriots, steal our land and then give it to foreign Turkish Settlers that they bring on our island. Cyprus would not have any problem if it wasn't for the barbarian Turks, their invasions and their Settlers. Today we are all reminded of how barbarian the Turks are and how much they want to steal our island from us.

In the RoC , AND ON THIS FORUM , we the members have freedom to express our views. Try doing so on the Cyprus44 forum , I did and got banned for expressing my opinions .
The T/Cs have nothing to thank Turkey for , more than half of them forced to emigrate the remaining are now told that they are NOT T/Cs but Turks of Cyprus banding them together with the Anatolian settlers who are by far the largest majority in the occupied parts of Cyprus.
Cant see what you two are celebrating !!
Please remember that the freedom of speech that was denied to me on the CYF, closely monitored by Turkey , is available to you on the Cy Forum .

Actually most were very happy to see them Miltiades, things might have evolved away from what it was meant (or said) to be initially, but you cannot deny the fact that the Turkish army was welcomed with tears of relief.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Th Devil is neutralised by God.

So too Occidental Civilisation takes a step forward to a positive future; but the barbarian Turks once more, take a step backwards ...

Well done for pointing out the truism!

20TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS CLIMAX WITH MAIN OFFICIAL CEREMONY AT DR. FAZIL KUCUK BOULEVARD

The people of the TRNC are celebrating the 35TH anniversary of the 20th of July Turkish Peace Operation in Cyprus.

35 years ago today, Turkey used her status as a guarantor power to militarily intervene on the island in order to save the Turkish Cypriots from total annihilation as well as to prevent the island’s annexation to Greece through a military coup by the Greek Junta.

For 11 years since 1963, the Turkish Cypriots resisted against the Greek-Greek Cypriot onslaught which claimed the lives of hundreds of Turkish Cypriots and forced thousands of others to flee their homes to safer areas.
Celebrations to mark Peace and Freedom Day celebrations officially began yesterday with an address to the nation by President Mehmet Ali Talat, which was broadcast live on Bayrak Radio and Television.

In his address, President Talat said the 20th of July should not be perceived as a symbol of the non – solution of the Cyprus Problem but as an opening towards reaching a lasting settlement on the island.
Various events and ceremonies are being held throughout many major towns around the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to mark the anniversary.

Meanwhile, foreign delegations from various countries are in the Republic to share the TRNC people’s excitement on the day.
Turkey is being represented this year by Turkish Minister of State Cemil Cicek and his accompanying high level delegation from the Turkish parliament.

Today’s celebrations began at the Bogaz Martyr’s cemetery where the Turkish soldiers who fell during the Turkish Peace operation lie.
Wreaths were laid, a minutes silence was observed, followed by the hoisting of flags to the national anthem.

This was followed by similar ceremonies at the Martrys Monument, the Ataturk Monument and the Dr. Fazik Kucuk Monument in North Nicosia.
A separate wreath laying ceremony was held at the Karaoglanoglu - Landing Place where Turkish troops first landed in 1974.
Celebrations climaxed at the official state ceremony at the Dr. Fazil Kucuk Boulevard in the capital Nicosia at 10am this morning.
Turkish Minister of State Cemil Cicek and President Mehmet Ali Talat delivered speeches at the ceremony which ended with an official military and civilian parade.

As part of other events today, the Turkish Stars Aerobatics team will be performing a show above Kyrenia Harbor at 6 pm this evening.
At 7 pm the Turkish Peace Forces Military Band will be giving a concert in front of the Ataturk Monument in Kyrenia ( Girne).

Tak news.
