This warmish Netgear 2000 I have here in GB reaches at least 50 yards from the front of the house to the bottom of our garden through two brick walls. It's got 2 antennas, not sure why, and loads of nice flashing symbols and it gets so hot it might be really good for making toast.

Since I have had it off the shelf (it's resting in a gap between two shelves so air can get underneath and around it) it's got a lot cooler. Still warm mind.

don't bother using primetel. it's the worst company as some friends told me.
they are helpful until you sign up the contract. the next day, they might not know who you are or what you want.
don't be cheated by their "stupid gifts" Free TVs, free laptops, free three months etc
they just want subscribers fast.
all of my friends left primetel after the 12month contract and they all say the worst comments about them.
the hard part is the payment you have to pay in order to DISCONNECT YOU, otherwise if you don't pay it, you will be billed and billed and billed.

I am using CYTA for 2 years. I am happy with them and their support. I needed assistance two times and the next morning their technicians were next to my door.

Tomorrow, I am going to sign a contract with cablenet. 40 cable TV channels + 5mbps internet connection + telephony for only 42 Euros per month.

Good luck to you, but their technical support is useless. You should also keep an eye on what they actually bill you. Speed and price are great, but if you pay peanuts you get monkeys!

This post was view 480 times before I solved my problem lonely... myself.

Possible that nobody of you haven't be able to attach direct a router adsl for example a Netgear DG834 (very cheap, good quality and popular) or similar?

Unfortunately I was terrorized by forums and I had to connect a new router never used that is a BILLION with 3g support that i can use so even with the broadband modem, and I think this router was not able to autodetect the settings of the dsl line/internet of cyta.

However I used

MPOA
VCI 8/35
UBR

it works now! I'm very happy, now tomorrow I should resolve all my problems of connection and QOS and NAT I had for don't tell the VPN always going dow due to the router speedtouch was working very badly. Perhaps the first is dead after 1 month and 1 week!.

That's all,

if somebody need help, please message me in private.

There’s a huge difference between a “DSL Router” and a plain vanilla “Router” so in future start communicating properly. When someone later suspected that you didn’t even bother to respond giving the impression that it wasn’t that!

So, it was more a case of your poor command of English because you never said you wanted to use an alternative “DSL Router” and instead you kept going on about a “Router” and that indicated that crappy silver box that CYTA gives out these days along with the SpeedTouch.

Incidentally, the Thomson SpeedTouch DSL modem works just fine, and the hundreds of thousands of happy customers are testimony to that. That’s not to say that they don’t have any faulty returns, but you’ll find that CYTA problems mostly stem from congestion at phone exchanges, and them digging up things in the roads all the time!

Anyway, in the world of computers you need to learn to use the CORRECT terms if you are to communicate effectively.

Finally, your suggestion that people go private to receive your assistance is nothing short of cuntish behavior! (not that anyone would be interested)
