Do I need it?

Is €85 a good price (Home Edition)?

Will even I be able to install it?

Leading edge technology is ok, but this is bleeding edge. Wait until a many others have installed it and Microsoft get a chance to fix all the bugs in it, then decide.

I still think XP x64 is the most stable one Microshite has managed to pull out so far.

It runs EVEN BETTER on my Macbook Pro

Well let me just say that I have been a PC nerd since I was 10, my desktop is still a quad Opteron with XP 64 and I love it.

But when the time came to buy my first laptop I was put off with all the options out there, then I discovered that Intel based OS X can run Windows perfectly fine, it's not even a hack, the software needed to install Windows (or Linux if you wish) is actually included in OSX and fully supported with updates and everything, even for x64.

It took me half an hour to install Vista and 10 minutes to remove it without effecting the OSX partition what so ever, and then installed XP, it runs just perfect.

I removed Vista because I did not like it and it caused some compatibility issues which were not related to Mac but cross compatibility between XP software and Vista.

But all that to a side, hardware wise the laptop is robust, perfectly usable and for the money I was going to spend on a crappy PC laptop, I got a bad ass Macbook Pro which gives me the best of both, battery is perfect, screen is marvelous and I am absolutely happy with it, there is no way I would ever buy a PC laptop ever.

I am a sound designer so I need to use Logic etc. which only runs on Mac, but my shitty day job required me to use Windows based online games, so now I can use both perfectly fine and OSX is just a beauty on its own, so many cool features, easy to use, NEVER needed to open the console (kind of like the CMD of PC) so far because everything JUST WORKS, its just what we have been waiting for Windows to do for SO long.

I can't live without my PC, but now I can't live without my Macbook either, I need both. This is definitely the most reliable piece of gear I have ever purchased.

I was anti-mac for ages because I never owned one, what they say is true, once you go Mac you never go back, I am totally sold

wow ur words make the mac sound very good.. i mean i like the fact you dont have to defrag ever and as you say i can have windows AND mac osx cso for my iphone i can use them hacking tools for mac and anything i might need for windows or mac i have the option which sounds very good.. the mac batteyr life is 8 hours i think or longer on my lap top is 2 hours... u make some intresting points... although you can use a hackint0sh to install mac os x on windows but itsa a HACK not supported and is a pain to install...

what i also like about mac is the wide options of video and sound editing toolswhich are easy to find and free..

with windows the one si find are pay for and rubbish...

but ive never had mac os x so i think it would take some time to get used to also i know its a lot more stable then windows.. maybe my next lap top will be a mac.. they definatly have much more advantages minus paying lots more for less specs
