Stop putting words in my mouth Oracle and start being realistic, no amount of GC's bitching on about the Turkish Army and the EU pestering Turkey is gonna get the Troops out. The key is a settlement between TC's and GC's. I along with many TC's support the full withdrawal of Turkish troops as PART of a settlement to the Cyprus issue, where as you see the withdrawal of Turkish troops as the ISSUE.

Sorry but the Turkish troops ARE the problem. They caused the current mess, they divided the island and expelled many Cypriots out of their homes, they put up flags and statues of foreigners everywhere and most importantly right now they are the cause of the deadlock in the current negotiations.

The above is not only a truly wonderful example of verbal abuse from one who claims to be a respectable Cypriot , it is also a positive indication that this indoctrinated 'Brit' who penned the words, is unworthy to take one step in unison with those who are REAL Cypriots, people who are capable of displaying a modicum of self respect in spite of the harsh treatment they have been subjected to, regardless of their differences.

Drunken Loudmouthed Louts are abundant in your chosen country (UK) miltiades, it would appear that the fifty years you have spent there has removed every trace of YOUR self respect and you are now (IMHO) an embarrassment to MY country.

Pull yourself together man, you are old enough to know better.

I am just fed up with this attitude that progress has to be slowed down to appease the slow-on-the-uptake TCs who are unsure!.

In what way is progress slowed? What appeasement?

Oracle wrote:Look at Umit, even now he still says 'why is removal of the troops so important?'

Then what place has he in the Federation?

Oracle wrote:For goodness sakes ... it is of singular and primary importance that the troops must be forced out!

Anyone wanting to waste time seeking approval from all and sundry is not focusing on the ONLY route to freedom for Cyprus.

Troops out of Cyprus, NOW!

Great slogan! So, what's your strategy?

Why don't you start an analytical thread ....

I've done so. So far no one has come up with a single strategy... So much for 'focusing on the ONLY route to freedom'.

Pipe down miltiades, you merely demean yourself by constantly offering abuse to we foreigners.

Thinking about it, most 'Brits' DO usually, another indication of your successful indoctrination perhaps ?, your new country is probably very proud of you.

Greece and the Greek flag are dividing forces not uniting .

You complete madman! ... You are not the organiser of this march so stop driving people away with your stupid remarks and rules.

If my Greek cousins wanted to come and support their ally Cyprus, on this march, and they waved Greek flags ... are you going to f-ing turn them away?

If my French neighbours decide to come and show support for the Cypriot cause, and they waved the French flag, are you going to f-ing turn them away?

Stay in your shop tinker-man and sell your pots and pans to your Turkish friends, and pray with your Muslim neighbours to show your solidarity with them -- and stop driving away the allies of Cyprus with your childish 'Greeks are not in my gang' nonsense.

Greetings, Oracle. I too have an affinity for the Hellenic heritage aspect of the Cypriot culture, but flourishing the national flag of Greece at this event is an afront to the reunification effort, as is waving the national flag of Turkey. It is simply counterintuitive to brandish the national flags of those countries that represent the ethnic tensions upon which the island was divided.

Well said Filitsa but I must say it doesn't take a genius to arrive at the conclusion that you have arrived at , any body with a pea brain can see that what divides the Cypriot people is not religion , not culture , not language but Greece and Turkey , what unites our people is undeniably the island of Cyprus and the love that we all share for this wonderful island.

Some sanity at last on the CF. I'm fast coming to the conclusion that people who can't see what is self-evident to any normal, rational, clear thinking human being, should be referred for psychiatric counselling, for their sake as well as for Cyprus.

Since there are so many issues relevant to the Turkish occupation of Cyprus and since such issues do at times counter what civilised societies require, I can see no reason why Greece (or any other nation in the European Union) should not exhibit their solidarity by demonstrating alongside their European brothers.

Furthermore, it might be a fine idea if ALL member states unfurled their flags in support of Cyprus' demands that the Turkish military forces should leave the island.

Such an action would leave the Turkish government in no doubt as to how they are viewed by we Europeans, Ah, but they already know.

Better to leave it to the negotiating skills of the three relevant powers, US. UK. and of course Israel.
