British MPs: "Turkey: enough intransigence!"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

VP, the Brits are not one entity to swing any way. There are what they call Turkofiles and Grekofiles here. Invariably it is connected to something else. Either its business or its votes. Everyone has a reason for doing what they.

What's your reason for trying to play down the importance of this event?

Its not that I am playing down the importance. There are 100s of thousands of Cyriots in UK. How many people attend it? After the agreement, we can turn it in to a rememberance day and stop beating each other with it, and then I will attend. Not while ordinary TCs ar collectively punished by RoC and the rest of EU.

I was talking about event at House of Commons. As for march in London, maybe 10,000 max. attend. Sure, it should be a rememberance day after agreement.

From the report:
Westminster Conservative Party Member Councilor Harvey Marshall and his wife Hazel Marshall are in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to attend the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day Celebrations.

‘As the Turks of Cyprus from that day to today we are very happy,’ said Mr. Bozer ('Parliament Speaker') and added that ‘we are aware of the fact that a peace agreement is needed in Cyprus and we too want this’.

Halil, please explain this contradiction:

1. 20 July 1974 is 'Peace and Freedom' day;
2. From that day to this you are very happy;
3. You're aware that a peace agreement is needed.

If July 1974 was 'peace day' and you remain 'very happy', why do you need a 'peace agreement' in July 2009?

Surely, there must be some confusion.
