But isn’t that what “enosis” is all about? Being overcome/overwhelmed by the “mother country”?
Had the Greek Cypriots of 50 years ago gotten their Greek enosis way, they would’ve had the same problems today…
Greek Cypriots would be in the minority while mainland Greeks in the majority, Cypriot-Greek would be frowned upon, Cypriot surnames probably modified to include “poulos” at the end, and God-knows what else…
You would also be called "Greeks of Cyprus" by now.!
