Turkey has a vast army with huge reserves and continually adds to its arsenal of weapons. The RoC must never consider war as an option in removing the occupiers from the lands of Cyprus but it has a duty to its citizens to protect them against any foreign aggression.

I thought that the EU was the protector of Southern Cyprus, or are they planning on going on the offensive??

that's what has been asked to EU and others representatives today by our government . We , the Turkish Cypriots have rights to ask this questions .... what for those guns ...... While they are arming ....how can u wait from us to understand u and just tight our hands and wait your good will .... we had this exprience sirs before .... we had .....

If you don't want the guns at you then become a cypriot... The guns are for protection against enemy invasions...And also, as the population rises, it is fair to have more guns

If you speak and read greek, love this country and at least do not oppose then you shouldn't be afraid. If you think you are different cause you live north and that turks should live in cyprus then guess what.... we don't need guns to beat TC....

We are a part of Europe now , all Cypriot citizens are Europeans . Together we must resist the occupation of a part of our island by a foreign power in a peaceful way whilst remaining alert at the prospect of further unwarranted intervention by the occupiers.
Cyprus will continue being Cyprus and will NEVER be Greek or Turkish Cyprus , how dare they impose upon us Cypriots their brand of ideology which denigrates with indignity the very fibre of our Cypriot identity.
I'm not a GREEK , the Greeks belong to Greece just as the Turks belong to Turkey , I'm a Cypriot who stands up and defends his birthright and that of his ancestors , the right to be a Cypriot.

So you are telling us to take of our life jackets although we cannot swim in choppy waters and no land in sight....very dangerous Miltaides why are you trying to get us to do this?

Swim to Turkey you plonker....it's only 40km away 8)

The Minister stated that such initiatives have proved that the Greek Cypriot Administration has not taken any lesson from the bloodshed it caused in the past and thus it takes the risk of dragging its own people to a disaster for the sake of national interests, by causing tension both in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean.

In case of unification, our national interests will be your national interests you stupid moron, unless of course, our national interests are gifted to turkey...

The only tension around here is your one eyed view of how the world spins...

Where do they get these transparent idiots...thats what I wanna know...

But they have the power to call it MORE as theirs than GCs do, since they can override the RoC ... something no GC would do!

Are you referring to Makarios?

NO !
The extremists shared some of the views that some G/Cs air today on this very forum. Same ideologies different era. Back then , just as now , the driving force that propelled them to the point of no return and subsequently led to the Turkish invasion was blind allegiance to a foreign country and total contempt for realities more so the reality that this island is Cyprus and can on its own sustain its existence as an independent island and the home of all Cypriots G/Cs T/Cs and others.
The extremists , indoctrinated from an early age , and continualy fed with nationalistic tribe , were hell bent on the distruction of the island of Cyprus , they achieved partly but must never be permitted to lead this island to self destruction. The law of the land , supported by the EU has to prevail .

Oh, but you said these extremists made policy decisions ...

Who were the extremists who made policy decisions? The average GC certainly didn't.

Surely you were referring to some past government ....

Bloody hypocrites, they complain about the message buying a few tanks sends to the TCs and yet next week no doubt the metmecik will parade in triumph through the streets of the north in celebration of their victory 35 years ago. And they do this while the talks are going on, bloody hypocrites!

Those Russians guns which were used in Cyprus against us now they are on display at Karavas open air museum ..... go and see them .

We have rights to ask these questions . If call it propaganda call it ....

We have rights to ask for our own protections ... if u like it or not ... we will .

No O , THEY DID NOT MAKE POLICY DECISIONS .
They took the law into their hands totally disregarding the wishes of the elected democratically members of government. Makarios was brushed aside and the Junta with its cronies was " in charge " .

Of all people I would have thought that you would understand what I said , here it is again:

"""The extremists shared some of the views that some G/Cs air today on this very forum.

The law of the land , supported by the EU has to prevail .""

To clarify further , right wing extremists , encouraged by the Junta and its Greek officers based in Cyprus , disregarded the wishes of the legally elected government and armed to the teeth took it upon themselves to achieve a dream that had long been abandoned by Makarios and the government.

Who else would have sparked the coup that brought Turkey into Cyprus but a bunch of fascists , brain dead extremists with their faces stuck right up the rear orifice of Greece.
The same sentiments , dangerous also even now are being expressed on this forum , even by you O!!
