What I know is that CTO (Cyprus Tourism Organisation) has been offering incentives to Hotel Apts and other "cheap" tourist accommodation places to come out of the Tourist industry and become permanent apartments.

There are many people that can pay the tourists rates. Some weeks ago I went to a 5 star hotel hotel in Paphos and stayed in a private villa with private pool. It was 425 Euro per night. And those villas were almost fully booked. I had trouble finding available dates. And that was in June. July and August were already 100% booked! I think quality is more important that quantity.

I heard rumours that they were to be renovated into student accommodation for the new university!

Well those prices are very realistic indeed, thats what I was saying earlier, if it was kept fair, then trade would be good.

The place was a S*** hole, needed to be closed, as these types of places do not encourage quality tourism
