Actually, i don't know if we will ever adapt to smoking. I'm just saying what i believe and it is possible for humans to adapt to any climate or lifestyle, we just need to do it more slowly

Infact that is only a very general idea of the matter. If you want to keep fighting for smoking then go on. I am a non smoker and i don't like it when people smoke around me but i can survive. I don't mind if cigarettes are banned completely or not

I am also a non-smoker and I find the smell particularly offensive. But from a "health" point of view the majority of people will not develop lung cancer; either from direct or indirect exposure to cigarette smoke.

Whereas, in a few years time, those of us still microwaving food will be in for a BIG shock!

I'm not hiding anything. Microwaves change the molecular structure of amino acids, fats and carbohydrates, in food. Some become stored in our bodies because they cannot be broken down; others mimic similar compounds but wreck havoc because they are not degraded.

It's a time-bomb ....

BTW: Welcome, and goodnight! :D

Smoking should be completely illegal. I knew Cyprus would go through a smoking ban, mainly because it's European. European policies were known years in advance, and one of those policies is anti-smoking, as well as a greener country and unity throughout it's union. I certainly do not feel sorry for anybody and hope to a brighter, cleaner environment. This will remove any peer-pressure from teenagers to smoke. Smoking is an uneducated, dirty habit, and I inform this to anybody who smokes.

Smoking will be banned in all nightclubs, weddings and so forth. Believe me, everybody was saying thing in the UK when smoking was banned in Pubs, but after several fines people gave in and now they are thankful for the change.

Thanks EU.

Ultimately this is about freedom of choice…

Taking the UK as an example for a moment…

Smokers have lost the right to smoke in a pub in a completely undemocratic decision – nobody voted for it.

Now the EU wants to ban smoking outside too even though MEPs are allowed to smoke in the European parliament.

I’m sure those that hate smoking are delighted by the decision but a precedent has been set. We have allowed politicians to effectively control and ban a legally available product that has been banned without a single democratic vote by the people affected.

As I mentioned before, the same thing happened with crash helmets. How we applauded when stupid motorcyclists were forced to wear helmets for their own safety. That legislation led directly to every car driver and passenger being forced to wear a seat belt.

Now the government is turning its attention to alcohol and controlling how much and were we drink. There are already 712 zones, some covering vast areas in the UK were you can’t drink outside – police are confiscating bottles of wine and beer from peaceful picnickers and other adults having a quiet drink outdoors…

Before long the EU will control everything you eat, drink and do and we will have walked into it like lambs to the slaughter.

Oh no, not yet... Their ambitions are far higher than that they've already achieved...
