How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

did turkey not threaten eu with their piplines to re open talks with eu? it was allover the news because one of the eu member states had a raction to turkey over it....

they did also run to the eu and say to forget cyprus and how they are a much larger and greater nation... their army is not helping them get the trnc recognised so they do the next best thing they know which is threaten and demand...

Actually Palio, it is called negotiating.

Be assured that Turkey gets these "threats" daily from all neighbouring countries including the EU, this is international politics.

Tit for tat, come one man don't talk like a fool you know how the world works, no one gives you anything for nothing.

The only thing this proves to me that the EU is mainly made up of a bunch of self-centered, bias and opportuist morons who stink of racism to their teeth, kind of like the RoC dont you think? ;)

EU, Just helping Attaturk to survive in Turkey and even his theories to be improve and became much more western. (saying EU i exluding UK which target is something very different).

I would love to believe that Epsilon.

However I have no reason to trust the dubious EU with anything let alone "improving Ataturks theories" (how ever that might be?) as there is only 1 other EU country that can be called secular and neither of them have to deal with Islam the way Turkey does. Ataturks views are way ahead of any EU politician you have today, so please don't compare the likes of nauseating Berlusconi and Sarkozy to Ataturk. These are all "fresh water" politicians as we call them, poncy pricks who don't have to do anything but file their nails while talking crap and make sure they have nice tans.

On the other hand anyone who supports Americas "Moderate Islam" master plan to be applied to Turkey, is a profound enemy of anything Kemalist, let alone actually improving anything in Turkey.

Judging by the support AKP has received over the years from the EU and the US, that's exactly where they stand in my eyes.

I have to agree with you that all of us must understand that Democracy in Turkey is working under special circustances and this must be always taken into account by Europeans.Turkish democracy could be better of course however can very easily became worst because of the circustances in the country and its part of population's religion/culture etc/
