Anyone find a ring?

Postby Buzzardwatcher » Thu Jul 09, 2009 2:43 am

Hi

I'm sure you have gathered I'm new to this site.

I lived in Cypus with my husband for a couple of years quite a long time ago but have been back to visit the island twice since then, the last visit was about 3 years ago and it's still a lovely place.

We used to go to Lady's Mile beach and it was there I lost my wedding ring about 30 years ago! I've often wondered if anyone ever found it.

I hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine. I live in N Ireland and the last few weeks here have been lovely, sunny and warm but the forecast for the next few days isn't great, rain on the way!

Well that's it for now until I get my bearings on the site. Hope to talk to some of you soon.

Hi

Yes it is quite sad and since then I have reached my 5th wedding ring but thankfully the same husband who is just great. In actual fact I gave my husband the 'lost' ring to look after while I went in the water. He had a little pocket in his shorts but he forgot he had the ring and went in the water and the rest is history. I was so upset with him at the time as we had only been married a few years. Never mind....

As forecast here the weather is dull so no sitting in the garden today.

Michael Owen, now there's a name! My husband is a Newcastle fan but of course Michael has now left the club.

What are all you guys doing in Cyprus?

Anyway I've probably bored you rigid now, thanks for the welcome.

Hello Buzzardwatcher

.... they are beautiful birds with an unsuitable name, aren't they? :D

As for wedding rings, it's traditional to put on so much weight after getting married, that the darn things can't come off again

Anyway, I too lost a treasured ring after a long trek in Switzerland when I cooled off by washing in one of those milky, freshly melted icy rivers. My fingers shrank.

Hi

Yes they are beautiful birds in flight and there are quite a few round this area.

Sorry you lost a ring too. Last year we had a quick trip to St Moritz, lovely place with stunning scenery although I'm not too keen on the roads up to the place, scary!
