it happens in many many more places of the world and it is tied to religious believes. Not good ones though in my opinion as its derogative, dangerous in matter of health and sometimes even deadly as not done under clinic surroundings. It should be banned once and for all.

In the hope of ending this debate on the pretty odious topic of female (and for that matter) male circumcision, here's Amnesty's information site on female genital mutilation (the correct term)...

http://www.amnesty.org/ailib/intcam/femgen/fgm1.htm

Hopefully we can get back to the main point of the topic which was this nutcase who crossed the buffer zone... latest news I heard was that the Ministers in the north were considering his request... what is there to consider? He's down on his luck and sees an easy chance of getting what he wants by making himself into a political figure... kick his ass back over the line.

He claims that the RoC state has given him a 'shack' as accommodation... any truth to this?

Women are not circumcised either in Judaism or Islam and to think that this might be the case only shows me the huge amount of Ignorance that exists on behalf of GC's towards TC's.

I find this really Incredible.

May I ask what you are talking about here?

Did anyone say that the TC women are circumcised?

Sudan and Somalia are not Moslem countries? Female circumcision does not occur there? You may say that it is also an African tradition. However it doesn’t occur in any other African countries, at least as far as I know. Could it be just a coincidence that it happens in those two countries which also happen to be predominately Moslem?

Are you moron or what?
So you know my religion better than me?
Serbs made a good genocide, isnt they are Christian,
So christans are all murderer?

Moronic.
This is most comic post I ever saw.
Can you help me how I will made my prayer?
It looks like you know Islam realy good.

How about the rest of hundreds of Muslim countries where this doesn't happen? Couldn't it be that these two countries, which happen to be Muslim, have such a tradition which is mainly local and not Islamic? Besides there's a sizable number of other religions in these countries. Maybe this happens in those minorities?

Female circumcision is not an Islamic tradition. However, male circumcision in Turkey and in N. Cyprus are done according to the tradition and it is not a MUST required by the state to be regarded as Muslims. Noone checks people's dicks. And it is not a requirement in order to live in TRNC or in Turkey.
In Muslim societies, sunnet (circumcision) is very important for a man to be regarded as a man. When boys are circumcised people say to them "now you are a real man". Boys have their circumcisions at the ages between 7 and 10, but I had mine right after I was born. Circumcising babies are much easier, because the baby is not aware of what's going on, and this doesn't cause an impact on the person's future life.
Some people say circumcision reduces sexual pleasure for man, but this is just a theory. But the fact is circumcised penises are much healthier and bigger ( ) as compared to uncut ones.

I hope this little info helps.

Therefore it is a coincidence that it happens in those two countries!
Thank you very much Mete!
What is the big deal with asking such questions?
Did I imply that it is a 100% Islamic tradition? Did I say that it happens in Turkey either?
Yet some people, instead of explaining and answering the questions in a straightforward manner, they get so furious as if someone cursed their mother!
