I'm Cypriot

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Jerinia is not a Greek name, it's a Cypriot name. There is no 'j' sound in Greek.

Varosha is not a Greek name, it's a Cypriot name. There is no 'sh' sound in Greek.

You mean Cypriot names...

So long as there are Cypriots alive, these names will remain alive.

It's part of the "We shall never forget!" mentality.

Nobody ca expect any Cypriot, whether Turkish or Greek even Armenian Cypriots to forget anything. Humanly impossible. What we have to look forward to is ' can we get on with our lives together?'

Fro your past posts I see that you will never forget what you went through during yor chilhood. Others too have had similar or worse experiences. What do we do? live apart with hatred?

Dont forget that 'winding up' in whatever form has been going on for a long time. Then there comes a time that it gets too painful. Do you think I dont feel pain whenever you 'wind us up?' or 'talk down to us?'.

The whole name change thing is done with a view to erasing the past ... which preempts an expectation to forget.

I do not talk "down" to Turk-TCs ... they are down! ... I consider them as low as humans can possibly go because of their continued occupation of nearly half my country!

Ok call them what you wish this is not what I am disputing but as long as we are in control of the north we will call them what we wish as we cannot pronounce the "Cypriot" names and do not know them anyway..my children dont know them nor with theirs.....now do you get it? PS you can call Istanbul constantinople all you like doesnt change anything. Same with us in the north the most common names used by people here for Girne is Girne in Turkish and Kyrenia in English..your version is not known by those that reside work and play in Girne.

Sorry if this hurts you but this is the reality you have problem dealing with and should really come to terms with the fact that without any solution these places will stay as we name them not as you name them, what you say in the north dont count just as what I say in the south dont count.

100 years time? An hour ago you were offering to return 'Maraş' to its rightful owners in return for direct flights.

The likelihood of this happening is a million to one and you know it, you went of on a hissy fit about what we call things instead of accepting my offer, my question was do you feel GCs would support such a move, I personally doubt it very much and is why I think we will never agree a solution.

I agree they will not support such a move. I, as a Cypriot, do not support such a move unless the airport in question was administered by the legitimate airport authority of Cyprus.

And then Viewpoint will turn to you, Deniz, and say. "See? How can we even contemplate reunifying with these vengeful bastards? We need a foreign military, with intervention rights in perpetuity, to protect us."

Some TC forumers have already asked me those questions and I have my answer. I have my opinions on the matter and they have theirs.

Yes, I know. I was winding you up... Perhaps there's a way the airport could be administered jointly by TC as well as GC staff (and no doubt plenty of Asian immigrant workers) under the auspices of the official airport authority of the island.
