We have no problem travelling with TRNC ID cards or TRNC passports, I use my TRNC ID card when I go south..even the GC police accept it.

I'm exploring an important point of principle so would refute your allegation of 'acting dense'. The Church might accuse scientists of the same for challenging established dogma. Whose side are you on?
Let's just stick to the discourse.Oracle wrote:There are many previous symbols with attached historical significance still flying around, in context. I wonder whether Halil or any other Cyprus Turk realises they are flying a glorious historic symbol of Byzantium? Maybe they should think twice.Oracle wrote:Anyone swearing allegiance to such a symbol representing stealing land from Cypriots, preventing the legitimate government with the legitimate flag from exercising their democratic rights over parts of the island ... should be thrown off Cyprus.
After a solution (praise God), I may wish to reclaim this symbol of Cyprus's illustrious ancient past and fly it proudly from my house. My motives might be to demonstrate legally my allegiance to the Byzantine nation/empire. Surely you wouldn't object.Oracle wrote:If the double-headed eagle were to be flown over a Mosque, that would be wrong ... But it never is! It is the rightful symbol of a legitimate authority. It is the official flag of the Byzantine Empire. Of course it is political. You might see it merely as a pious symbol but I might look at what the double-headed eagle is holding in its right leg and think otherwise. Would Jesus approve of a flag with a sword flying from His Father's House? I might think.Oracle wrote:You have to look at individual cases and there is no 'ONE rule fits all symbols' ... I agree. So, after a solution, you'd accept me flying my Star and Crescent flag, given the context and the meaning I described above. Just as you'd expect me to accept that 'pious' yellow flag, despite the context and meaning I might ascribe to it.
