How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I know mate...just thought it was ironic that the one chain the former first family is involved in has decided to open up over there as well.

Gloria Jeans is an international franchise. The former President's daughter (TPap???) probably only has a franchise license.

But in any case, since it is a franchise, anyone can purchase a franchise license no matter where they are located. Obviously a TC has just bought a license and set up in the "trnc". This can't be stopped.

It is a bit like McDonalds.

The MacDonald franchise holders (from my village and related) have the franchise for the whole of the island. At the last count they had 17 outlets. Once a settlement is reached they will expand to the rest of the island.

I think this is the case with many of the franchises hence no TC can open anything in the north. Burger King is operated by a Turkish company ( TAB Gida) which has changed it's name to "Burger City" everything on the menu is exactly the same though.

I tried the Burger City near Lemar/Kyrenia on the road to Lapithos, I noticed the menu but was not impressed by the service. Never went there again. The children loved it though. The cats were happy.

I live in Australia, and I can assure you that what I express is not propaganda. They are facts, according to numerous UN resolutions, and as far as the neutral Australian public are concerned. Our problem is one of invasion and occupation and I'm sorry you think this is clique GC propaganda, because the rest of the world does not agree with you.

Furthermore, we have compromised greatly by agreeing in principle to a BBF solution, and have received nothing in return. As a matter of fact, the Annan plan was even going to deny us our rights to an EEZ, and was a Confederacy and not a Federation.

We do not trust Turkey and will never allow Turkey any intervention rights. We are a member state of the EU and don't need Turkey. The indigenous Cypriots will never accept it, regardless of the fact that they can't, for the time being, return to their homes.

But I have to say, it is no secret that we don't trust you. I definitely do not trust you personally, and I would HATE to be left in a situation where I have to trust you. There is no way I would agree to a solution that would give you the military upper hand, NO WAY!

Well you let the cat out of the bag here Shah. You talk about never allowing us to have the "military advantage". This is indicative of your mentality. You wish to retain a "military advantage" and use it to shit on everyone else by denying the 82% their Human Rights as defined by the EU Charter.

We however, don't want any Military Advantage over Cyprus, but want our island and people united as EQUAL citizens. BIG DIFFERENCE!

So perhaps you are right. Our principles are incompatible with yours, and as long as this remains the case, we can never live together in a united Cyprus.

So I can turn the same idea around to you and say that Turkey is not the old Turkey and neither are we. They are here for our protection and our protection alone so its no threat to you if you are not planning anything stupid. Right? Turkey has said over and over again that the army will retreat once a proper solution is found. This means FIRST we find a solution and then they go. Not the other way around, that would be pretty stupid of us don't you think, I mean what do you take us for? As I have said you being an EU member means nothing, as the EU poses no sense of security for us nor should they.

We are an independent country and member of the EU. We can NEVER accept a guarantee from a country that invaded us, ethnically cleansed 200,000 and killed 10,000 indigenous Cypriots. I can never accept a guarantee from an Army that beat the crap out of my father in law in Adana.

As a member of the EU we have this, and you have NOTHING:

And yes I am talking about Solomos (the guy on the flag post yeah?), very sad incident and I definitely DO NOT agree with what happened, not the slightest, but nor can you claim that there was no provocation. It is so easy for governments to create more propaganda material for themselves by provoking and exploiting extremist people into doing crazy shit. It is very typical and has been used all over the world.

In most other western countries, people are not even arrested for burning the nation's flag. The mere fact that you consider this act by an unarmed demonstrator as "provocative", is very indicative of your mentality.

I am certain that an unarmed Solomos was not going to take away your "military advantage".....How on earth are we going to accept a guarantee from such murderers?......STUPID HYPOCRITE!

I am sorry but I just find your government to be very insidious and there is no way I can live under them with no security.

No one is more insidious than an Army that kills unarmed demonstrators! Image

The invasion was defensive Paphitis. The "neutral" Australian public was not going to save the TC's from the enclaves and neither was the "indigenous" people of Cyprus. BTW there is no indigenous people in Cyprus. This is the kind of propaganda junk I am talking about.

The army beat the crap out of your father? Well our family friends are still missing, you see why you don't make sense? International law is not worth the paper it is written on. Any views on this matter which is mostly reflecting GC innocence is noting but trash. I know GC's worked very hard to get such false international recognition. Doesn't mean you can fool your dear neighbours ;)

You were on the offensive not us, and there is no way you can deny that, not politically not militarily. So again, there is no way I could ever accept crooked mentality such as yours to have the military upper hand as this would literally mean suicide. I am up for a solution but I cannot accept that you getting an INCH more than what you have would be "sacrifice", I think you already have a lot more than you deserve considering the unfairness this case has been treated with internationally, mostly due to such propaganda merchants as yourself. So please dont tell me about the "neutral" Australian people, they have enough "indigenous" blood on their hands themselves.

The guy on the pole trespassed a military zone forcefully. I think anyone can get shot for that anywhere around the world. Any idiot would know that yet still forcing your way through there is, I am sorry to say but, plain stupid and is indicative of provocation.

You call us murderers? I presume Atlılar and Sandallar murders were the way of the civilised and indigenous people too yeah? Never new mass executions of women and children were considered to be self defence. You should read your paper about human dignity while looking at the pictured of our mass graves, makes you feel ever so righteous.

Your views are extremely bigoted and I never knew you were "one of those". Disappointing really...

Actually that's not entirely accurate. The TRNC has embargoes enforced on it and the GC's work VERY hard to internationally pressure such companies in order to stop any kind of investment over the north. So companies and some countries have started to ignore your unjust calls, meaning the embargoes might crumble in time, also meaning eventually we might not even need for a solution while the other side is planning ways to "rule everything". So you say we dont have shit? Well I think you are pretty wrong there..

Shah, the murder of Solomou was an unnecessary act. He could have been arrested. Killing of an unarmed man is a callous act and should be condemned and no excuses are acceptable. A most cowardly act too. No wonder they brand 'Turks' as being barbaric savages.

The isolation is a result of invasion / occupation. The international community is just following the respective UN law and the minor Cyprus state has no power to establish an int embarco to North. Just the law.Do you know there are some countries which are still follwing the law.beleive me there are such countries and you can say this to your co-patriots in Turkey and North Cyprus.
